Overall an encouraging workout. Villa put out a reasonable side with Guzan, Vlaar, Clark, Westwood, El Ahmadi, Wiemann in the starting 11 (no Benteke, Bent, Agbonlahor in the squad), changing the entire team after 60 mins.

Wycombe 1-0 up after 10 mins - cross from Marvin, looked as though it took a deflection off the Villa man, and dropped in at the far post.

Villa level after a header from around 15 yards out, following a corner (I think)

Wycombe 2-1 up before half time when Leon headed in after a corner was flicked on at the near post.

Villa level in second half after a direct free kick on the right hand angle of the box - looked as though Ingram could have done better.

A draw was about right. Paris Cowan Hall started and looked lively.

A good warm up for the opening day and useful to play against players from a higher level ahead of the Leicester match in the League Cup

Cheers. Just got in . Thanks for the update. Sounds promising. I was hoping to get over for that game but couldn't make it.

very encouraging from the team today - our starting defence of McCoy Johnson stewert and dunne had very little problem wit villa, barring a defensive horror show for the first goal! paris cowen-hall was beating his defender with a worrying amount of ease and pittman looked very good in the air.. as for morgan he did very well in the first half then spent to second half being crowded out by 2 or 3 villa defenders and never getting any free kicks his way...

as for Wycombes goals, first one was a bit of a fluke after a big deflection, not that marvin will mind! the second was a pretty neatly worked corner with pittman (I think!) flicking on for Johnson to head in. villas second was a soft free kick anyway but the wall was poor and ingram was beaten at his near post

still though, all in all a very good performance and looks good for the season ahead

on a slightly different note, that away kit is ghastly!!!

I think it looks great. Very easy to spot each other. Might even dazzle the opponents. Almost looks continental.
