Good spell for the R's, comfortable in possession and playing it about on the deck but always looking for an incisive pass.
That move there showed exactly why we need a proper forward. It's far too easy for the Italian centre backs when a cross comes in.
Are the officials called, CARBONARA, CORLEONE, and CAPPACINO cause they could'nt be more Eytie if they feckin' tried FFS
Donkeys Team of the Weekend 13/05 â West Brom, QPR and Stoke lead the shame brigade http://thefootballspace.com/2013/05...st-brom-qpr-and-stoke-lead-the-shame-brigade/ Bobby Zamora â QPR The Donkey of the Week by a long way which is impressive in this company but look at this; Do you want a striker who has admitted he doesnât enjoy the game or feel any passion for it? Do you want to pay him £50k a week? Do you want him to have 0 shots on target, one final third pass and for him to lose out in aerial duels twice as often as he wins them? And also to complete just 52% of his passes. Of his passes! At least Walters has dribbles and crosses in his ridiculous possession surrender. Zamora gave it away 14 times just by passing. he didnât even attempt a take on and had a failed cross. A spectacular display of atrociousness. please log in to view this image Jose Bosingwa â QPR This was the worst individual 45 minutes of the season. 45 minutes, because he was subbed off at half time having cost his team two goals and flattened them after a nice start. Not bad for £55k this week. Point at two of the QPR fans in the crowd and the chances are their combined salary this year doesnât match what Bosingwa got for this 45 minutes. He gave away a ridiculous penalty and then an awful hospital pass to Rob Green gave Newcastle what would prove to be the winning goal. He didnât even look like he cared that he was humiliating himself and his wage payer either. please log in to view this image Stephane MâBia â QPR Iâm not sure why Harry Redknapp played him with his open courting of a return to Marseille in the week but he repaid him with a performance of impressive ineptitude. How does this take your fancy? 15 passes completed, 3 fouls. WOW! Itâs hard to pick out players from the QPR Newcastle game because it was so awful Hatem Ben Arfa aside but MâBiaâs was notable. please log in to view this image
It was a good game, and one that required our players to work hard and keep shape. We performed ok, looked solid and did keep possession well until it got to our strikers, or should I say lack of. This is a major problem at the moment. We have no inventiveness up front, and the players currently playing there are ineffective. If Remy goes and we fail to replace him - well even if we keep him and dont get another striker in I will be concerned about the lack of firepower we have. Defence looked solid, and kept shape well, as did the central midfield. But another problem is our wingers. Hoilett, SWP etc.. simply cannot perform well enough in this role imo for us. No real quality delivery to the 'strikers' and rarely taking men on to beat them. As I said earlier - Park, whilst he did ok today, he isnt a winger. Our youngsters seemed to do well, and Sutherland finished nicely for our goal, breaking from midfield and finishing low into the corner. At one stage in the second half, we took AJ and Zamora off, so had Hoilett and Sharif playing up front. Neither out and out strikers. Then we took off Hoilett leaving Sharif on his own. Ironically this is actually when Sutherland scored. But it shows how thin we are up front. On that subject, what is happening with Remy? Injured with a 'minor' calf strain they keep saying. They said he would be back for the games in Austria but hasnt played at all in pre-season. So he wont start the season as he is unfit.
Good that all of the subs got minutes. I don't think we'd have lost that game if we'd played our strongest 11 for the whole 90, so the result isn't too bad.
I think you're spot on about our strikers mate........trouble is, 'Arry loves 'em, especially that carthorse Zamora! It will be a huge problem for us imo. If we keep Remy I'd play him up top with Taarabt behind him.......Harry won't though!
No, unfortunately I cant see Taarabt playing again. Our single creative influence. As they say, you dont know what you have until its gone. Zamora has been terrible in pre-season, and AJ has done ok in spells, but other than that really hasnt shown enough. I really cant understand why Harry loves Zamora, he is utterly useless.
Here is a short highlights package missing their first goal (presumably because the stream went down at that point), and not very good for Sutherland's goal. Probably of more interest to those who didn't watch the stream than those that did.
