Colchester United manager Joe Dunne says there have been no bids for midfielder John-Joe O'Toole. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23258437 so who do you believe perhaps Joe Dunne is ramping up the pressure or Rovers want them to waive a fee possibly take him on a loan. We def do not have much money to splash around otherwise we would have put in an offer to Colchester sounds like smoke and mirrors. Brinkmanship on all parts player clubs etc What is your view Gasheads with the season just around the corner my belief is that we hope to pick him up on the cheap as he is superfluous to Colchesters requirements (they have all the midfielders they need) and they wish to offload him but we are holding out till the last minute hoping they and the player will agree to lower terms or a season loan with and offer of a contract for the following two seasons? My word its hot hot hot COR
Looks like JJOT is fighting hard for his place at Colchester. Looks like it might be a step too far for us. He is the difference for me, between a mid table, bog standard season, and potential top 3 finish.
We need to move on now and find someone else its obvious he wants to stay at Colchester and like someone posted on OS Forum if he really wanted to come he would be here now.
Someone as good as JJOT? If we cannot get JJOT, we will need two CM's as none of the rest are good enough lol
Surely someone is telling porkie pies!! 62 Approaches by Clubs 62.1 Clubs shall not directly or indirectly approach any Player whose name is on the Clubs List of players (as described in Regulation 66) of another Club except in accordance with Regulations 64 or 67. 62.2 Any Club wishing to obtain the services of a Player whose registration is open to transfer whilst under contract (as indicated on a Club's List of Players) must communicate any offer in writing (or if there is insufficient time, by telephone, confirmed in writing) to the Club holding the registration of such Player.
exactly. so why is ward saying he has been in contact with o'toole and is in constant talks with his agent. as i said on the thread yesterday about o'toole, surely this would be a case of tapping up!
I think this article sums up pretty much everything that there is to say about this subject! And even a bit more. http://www.thegasworks.net/apps/blog/show/29524085-is-john-joe-o-toole-worth-the-wait-
That article is spot on! lets not have a repeat of last season... just make one and final offer, then move on..
Just been reading comments from Col. U fans in the local paper regards JJ, opinions are that he is a must for our starting 11. A good performance against Spurs tonight could cement his place, if for some reason Dunne leaves him out tonight then rest assured he's on his way out, which will probably be a decision that will come back and bite Dunne in the bum.
I'd be very surprised if he's not a Colchester player come the end of the transfer window. Pity, but we should move on and try to secure the services of an experienced midfielder. Someone who's coming to the end of their career but still has a year or two left in them - someone who can influence the youngsters around them. Sign them on a 1 year contract. I reckon Burton did some very good business signing Rory Delap, for example.
The Colchester team against Spurs last night. COLCHESTER UNITED: Walker (sub Cousins, 69), Olufemi (sub Spence, 69), Eastman (sub Thompson, 69), Pappoe (sub Okuonghae, 69), Dickson (sub O’Donoghue, 70), David Wright, Gilbey, Drey Wright (sub Bean, 84), Sears (sub Szmodics, 70), Watt (sub Massey, 70), Ibehre. Substitutes (not used): Izzet, Bond, Morrison. I can't seem to find a certain player's name anywhere!!!!!!!!!!!
JJ is named in the team to play this afternoon, but why was he not in the squad for last night against Spurs? Well no JJ in this afternoons line up, not even on the bench, what the f??? is Dunne playing at ?.
