Doesn't say when we made the enquiry...for all we know we could've enquired at the start of summer and Freedman's just bringing it up now to try and raise some interest in him. He's a decent player, mind. Overpriced in transfer fees and wages though.
Im more than happy if we get Mills. A really good defender at this level who has been somewhat unlucky especially at Leicester (but then how many good players have been unlucky there). He knows BMD and has performed well under him previously, theres no reason why he won't again. Admittedly I was more excited about the prospect of Dawson but Mills is still more than capable of a place in a promotion winning team
If we got Mills & we didn't have to sell any of our current defenders, what would our back 4 look like? Byram Lees Mills Warnock? If so, are we that sure that Mills is so much better than Pierce or Peltier at CB?
My guess is we are starting the season without Byram, due to injury, anyway. Has Peltier been playing RB in pre-season games other than Ferencvaros where he played CB?
I think you might be right about Byram, but I have a funny feeling that it's Zac Thompson that'll be standing in for him! He's played there longer than anyone else so far this pre-season.
Haven't seen him in pre-season, but the last time Zac played there (towards the end of Grayson's tenure) I thought he looked pretty good there! Wouldn't be fussed if Peltier played RB though, after all it is his natural position...
Matt Mills was class for Reading under McDermott. As long as all the fees are sensible he would be a top signing for you Bad points though, he is a bit of a twat, he passing is worse then mine and he gets more red cards then Birthday cards

2 red card in 6 months for us He 2 footed someone and pointlessly tripped a striker over as last man. Gave a peno away and cost us the game
Strikes me as the sort of low-on-confidence, once-decent sort who has populated our centre defence for nearly a decade now. Won't amount to anything despite much initial hype and nostalgia about their one/two good season(s) somewhere. See also: Jason Pearce, Lubomir Michalik, Rui Marques, Roque Junior, many others.
