Have to say, so was TC. Gave us something that no-one else has that I have seen with his near post finishing. My favoured 2 strikers would be Lineker and the Doog. I would have TC on the bench to add something different. Despite being an excellent player, Bruno wouldnt make my team. All opinions though.

I see your point - Cotte and Heskey together were a damn fine partnership mind ... oh how we shook the towers of the mighty - remember this?

I was at that game, think it was against Man City and it knocked us out of the FA cup! They are all human and make errors. Shilt's had his
Moments as well, England v Poland 1973, Twigs v wolves at Wembley 1980. They were both brilliant keepers! Just that Banks was my idol
and will always be my number one.

Strikers today, probably the most difficult position to pick:

I think it's always gonna be Lineker +1 here. Again, going on who I actually saw play, I'd have Heskey all day long.

Disappointed to see Claridge ahead of Cottee but i understand why, he scored 2 of the most important goals in our most recent history so i guess that just edges him in front.

I would always stick Heskey on any list, incredibly maligned by the media for a long time. Watching some of those videos I can't see why he was vilified so much, far better than most of the dross playing for England now.

Actually I'm very happy with it ... didn't get to see Sep Smith or Arthur Rowley - but their records are difficult to argue with .- each on the list was a real 'contender' for their slot ...

Can see a few of our more youthful posters thinking WTF (see I know 'street' too LOL) but'fankly my dear' (to quote a well known film line) that's only because our former players were far far better than nearly everybody who has worn the blue shirt post the MON years ...

... although I'm deeply disturbed not to have seen Gary Coatsworth mentioned anywhere in the article ...

I think that they have probably made the choices based on stats alone. I thought Lineker would have been a dead cert but fair play, they've stuck to their own rules of selecting only based on form whilst at Leicester. Good to see Muzzy and Walsh in there. I can't argue with it really.

If only ................. Looks like Walshy would be the weakest link - thats how good that team is. Likewise Fosse, even I am not old enough to have seen Sep Smith or Arthur Rowley, but as you say, records speak for themselves.
