Michael Laudrup has stated that he turned down an offer to manage a high profile Champions League side this summer. My views have never wavered regarding ML I've always believed he's a man of integrity a rare commodity in football these days. He is revered around the world as one of the greatest players ever and is well on his way to becoming a great manager as well. I take my hat off to him. Whether he moves on next year, no one knows but one thing I am sure of he will not backtrack on any promises he makes, not like those in the past.

Fair assessment Sbulby. I think he will be with you for a while yet and will only leave if pushed.

To be honest I think this time next year we will be looking for a new manager again. I'm not questioning his integrity at all here either, as I do believe he is a man of his word. But a lot of his comments are along the lines of 'I promised I will stay another season, so I will.' Nothing is ever mentioned about staying for the long term etc, its always about this season.
I think if we flourish in Europe this season and remain competitive in the cups and league then he may well stay on. But I think the board are pretty aware that this could be his final season and already have people in mind for next years potential vacancy.

I think that all depends on how this squad gels and performs. If this squad comes together and shows a future why would he walk away from them when they could seriously challenge for something the following year. He would have laid the ground work only to start all over again somewhere else. I think he is smarter than that.

When you have managers being linked to the Real Madrid job then you don't exactly expect them to stay too long. Success just seems to follow us everywhere, no matter who is managing the team.

What happens if you do not win your first 10 games?

We'll just have to go and win the next ten.

That will give us 30 points after 20 games. So we will then only need,say,10 points for safety, from 18 games.

    So,asked and answered.

However, you should really be more concerned about how many points you lot will have after 38,not 10 games.

    Not nearly enough,I suspect.

Never, I like the swans and their style of play. A swans fan? Never but I did enjoy Watching Tosh take you to the top flight.
Lib, good response but will Laudrup still be manager? I think yes because it would hurt HJs purse strings too much.
    Valley, I'd take that. :)

Taff,I really don't understand your obsession with Laudrup and Jenkins. Nobody knows how long Laudrup will be with Swansea. Not even he knows that.

As regards hurting "Huw's purse strings",I don't fully comprehend how that fits in with him staying,or leaving.

Here's one for you. At what point will Mackay be removed? Bottom three by Christmas?

Huw doesn't appear to like spending huge amounts, now that is a good thing. However, the players Laudrup likes seem to cost at least a million more when he comes asking. If Huw thinks Laudrup is going to leave then will he want to spend a huge amount on players? Huw will not sack Laudrup after 10 games, Swansea would have to fork out a wedge. Better for Swansea if he's poached.

If we are bottom three 25 December I expect the board to support the manager if he has done his best, if he has failed then so be it. However, we have different scenarios, you have a world class ex-player with premier league experience who has spent a **** load of money against an up and coming manager who has to prove himself at the top level. In this case a David and Goliath scenario. My money would be on MM having his job but that is pure speculation.

Yes he's spent money, as for **** loads I don't think so, £12m for Bony yes, Shelvey for £5m from Liverpool , but we were owed that from the Allen transfer. The point is though over the last couple of seasons on transfers we are still in the black even with this window's transfers

Sorry Jager but I support an ex championship side and 12 million is a **** load of money for one player.

I don't think Laudrup will be starting next season with us, but I'm not too worried about it.
When you think about when he came to us at the start of last season, he admitted that he knew very little about us and had to watch DVD's of our previous season.
One thing he's done for us is to raise our profile beyond what any of us could have imagined, so when he does go we will be in a far better position to pick the next manager

That's really true! We're at the point where even some quite famous managers might consider an offer of the Swansea job. We're a long way from considering someone like Graeme Jones now, I think. Third season in the PL, some silverware, European qualification, top 10 league position. That's not bad, is it?

Assuming we don't have a bad season of course :D

Yes it is a lot of money, but we had bank of Liverpool giving us even more money, and when you look at other premier league clubs, there is not many running in the black. Your club has spent a lot now, the only way to stay in this league is to take calculated gambles on players.

And now you support a premier league club where the club is guaranteed about £60m for 1 season and a parachute payment if relegated of another £60m over a number of years

I don't think he'll be here next summer to be honest but that's because I'm a pessimist and I hope to be proved wrong. If he does go we better not bloody offer the job to Graeme feckin Jones!
