Sadly its their game against the Blades on SUNDAY 13 October. So Coventry will pocket 60,000 pounds as the home team as of 2012/13 prices
I am starting to wonder if Coventry will still be in existance in October the hedge fund that is behind all the problems is facing even more legal challenges and there is also a lot of flack being directed at the Football League for accepting the word of the hedge fund that they will return to Coventry to play football because after reading the statement that the FL accepted as a declaration of intent to return to Coventry lawyers have stated that the way the statement is worded it could mean anywhere within 50 miles of Coventry as all it states is they propose to return to somewhere in the Coventry area in effect.
The Football League should hang their collective heads in shame when you look at what they allow to happen in our beloved game. Foreign ownership is making them look like the fools they actually are and their dereliction of duty when they look the other way is reprehensible in the extreme. When rules are brought in to place based on the failings of many clubs it should make us even more aware of what poor ownership has done to many clubs especially when you see new ownership that is clearly skating on thin ice being allowed to run clubs in to the ground and then walk away scot free. It is not called the English Football League for any other reason than it belongs to us and should not be held captive to overseas interest and money. Ticks me off to see the demise of our game particularly when I see clubs like ours become beholden to rules generated due to the lack of due diligence by others.
I have a built in hatred of Hedge Funds following an unpleasant experience with an investment a few years back but it has to be said that despite the current issues, without them CCFC probably would have died a couple of years ago. Trouble is, they sold the best assets and gambled that they would make it back to the NPC and then, just when it looked like they might succeed, let Mark Robins go...
