Hope your all enjoying summer and a break from an endless stream of footie but here the new season is already in countdown with pre -season, new signing (what!?!) and hopefully some football talk (soon). And to continue the countdown the Prediction League is set to return for third season and its first in predicting the results of the Barclays Premier League thanks to City's promotion. In exactly a months time, Cardiff will kick off their first top flight campaign in over half a century and it would be an injusice not to try and guess some of City's results.... For you that don't know the Prediction League was originally run on the old 606 and involves the guessing of the scoreline and the scorers in each of Cardiff league games this year. It's been good fun over the past couple of seasons and gets some of you who don't comment as much to become more involved in the board, as well as some good old competitive fun to see who of all of us is the best predictor. So comment and follow the instructions below! Existing Members - If you were part of the league last year and took an active part, comment on this thread and you will reclaim your place in the Division you were in last year, including relegations and promotions. You will see this confirmed as your name will appear in one of the lists below. New Members - If you are hoping to join the league and I hope there's some of you... Comment and your name will be placed in the Non - League list. Since there I don't know how many new members there are going to be I'll wait and see before deciding where you will be placed. Thanks Blue Sheep

Well, I failed in the playoffs yet again last season. To stand any chance this year, I'll have to stop predicting City to win every game..............oh, I dunno though............ Count me in Sheepy - got to be sensible and realistic this season. I doubt we'll win many more than half our games for a start.
Ah, preview time.... Taffthefish (Div 1:8th) DWN 2 Despite a slight drop Taff has had another good season to produce a top 10 finish. Similar to last season Taff finished well, recovering from a low of 13th place to secure a second top half finish. Not quite managing to repeat the 7 CS’s but the good finish was inspired by a brave prediction of the loss away to Boro. The challenge will be again to push higher up the table but a hatrick of Top 10 finishes is no mean achievement. Oldsparkey (Div 2: 6th) UP 1 Sparks proved he is the master of last day magic as for the second year in a row a timely CS snatched the final playoff spot. Made it a stage further this year with his first final appearance by performed poorly and was well beaten by Ex, after crushing Danablu beforehand. Will need to bag more CS to be in the mix for auto’s but perhaps three playoff campaigns lucky is Sparky’s moto? BluefromBridgend (Div 2: 11th) DWN 6 A strange season for BfB always mired in the bottom half; Bfb somehow managed this with 6 CS to his name – the second highest tally in the league. Yet he never managed to break higher up than 8th and despite getting so many results spot on lacked in the other categories so was not able to retain a playoff spot for a 2nd season. Predicting in the Premier League may suit BfB style so expect a better effort in the coming games.
Looking forward to it sheepy. Have to see if I can go one better than last year. Hope that nice bloke from Bradley Stoke joins in again this year.
Count me in please sheep. I struggled to get the final promotion spot last season,(sorry Oldsparkey) just hope I can stay up!
Hey Eldon, good to see you about. I fear I may be at the other end of the table this year, just like our team. If I'm only wrong on one count I'll happily get relegated and take one for the team.
Eldonbluebird (Div 1: Champion) UP 8 Eldon clearly the best predictor this season, avoiding the previous season’s last day drama by winning outright by 5 points. And a joint Golden Boot to wrap things up. It was a steady rise for Eldon, knocking aside the other title challengers at Christmas before dismissing BLUEBIRDS after a bit more success. In the process Eldon set a record points tally and largest margin of victory. The question now is whether Eldon can take the chance that Siam missed and repeat his success to dominate the leagues, ala Sir Alec? Ccfcremotesupport (Div 1: Runner Up) UP 13 Another large success story, Remote also needed a last day CS to secure Top Flight predicting for another season. And it is a well taken opportunity, smashing the division to grab second and completely deny expectations. Although never making a firm bid for the title, remote was always in the mix mainly thanks to 23 CR and a good finish to take him up three places in the last 10 games. So a bit of a doubt remains over whether Remote can reproduce this form or will the coming season take a similar tune to the first? Jonahbluebird (Div 2: Champion) Jonah completed a stunning first season as he blew away the rest of the 2nd tier playing field, and although the table shows only a single point margin it was far more comfortable in truth. Always in the mix straight from making his debut, Jonah lead the division after Campbell’s two goals secured a win at Molineux. A haul of 7 (seven) CS not only bagged him the Golden Boot but allowed him to make up the six point gap Ex had opened up over Christmas. Jonah must now transfer his form over into the First Division, something last year’s winner Benjy has not managed to fully get the hang of.
The Exile (Div 2: 4th PO Winner) UP 2 Ex finally makes it over the line, succeeding where he failed at the end of last season. Not including missing out on the Christmas promotion slot and dropping a six point lead at the top…. However, Ex has certainly deserved his promotion after being a long standing candidate and his predicting certainly shows he will compete. He will just be happy to long have the Cardiff City “nearly” tag dropped – this is the last time I mention it! I swear! Swamp (Div 2:9th) UP 4 Swamp continues his steady rise up the second tier table; an outside bet for the playoff chase shows his continued progression. Seems to have resolved the CS issue and a real highlight came against Charlton with the exact situation getting him 4 points. After being only 4 points off a shot a promotion, Swamp will need to use this as motivation to continue improving and to keep up the good work.
Im still about Remote, Reading the board just cant be arsed to get to involved with some of the clowns on here !!! Being an optimist i have us down for 9 points before the end of August This will be a very interesting prediction league this season
