QPR winger eyes showdown talks By Tim Street Jul 18 2013 ANGELO Balanta will have showdown talks with Harry Redknapp over his QPR future in the next few weeks. The Colombian winger has made only a handful of first-team appearances in six years at the club, instead being shipped out on loan to the likes of MK Dons, Wycombe and Yeovil. And the 23-year -old, who was left out of the 24-man squad for the pre-season tour to Austria, wants to know if he has any kind of future at Loftus Road. He said: âI am still trying to break through to the first team, which is very tough as there are a lot of players ahead of me at the moment, but I will have a chat with the gaffer soon to see where he sees my future. âI haven't had much of a chance to talk to Harry (Redknapp) since he came in â there are too many other players â although I have had a few training sessions with him, but we will talk in the next few weeks. In the meantime, I will just keep my head down. âIf it comes to going out on loan again, I'd like to think I can get a Championship club, or at least League One. We would have to see who wants to take me on. "I've been at a few clubs now, and I'd like to think I've done myself justice at places like MK Dons and Wycombe.â Read more: Fulham Chronicle http://www.fulhamchronicle.co.uk/london-qpr/2013/07/18/82029-33623724/#ixzz2ZNu8Uwug
cant say that I know much about him is he any good is he worth keeping and are we restricted to a 25 man squad in the championship
As a loyal QOR fan since 1971, I can't say I've ever heard of him! When I saw the start of the article ................ I thought it was someone we were looking to buy!
Saw him play at the Eversley tournament back in June with a few other "league" players. Bang average, nowhere near good enough for the championship. Cheerio.
Looked to have a lot of potential at 17 when he played a few games and was excellent in a 4-2 win at Watford. Never seems to have fulfilled it though. Still better than SWP, however.
Agree, was a good prospect, he's still young, enthusiastic and keen definitely should be ahead of SWP in the squad. The problem we have is that Harry doesn't like "trying out & developing" new talent, he'd much rather stick with the "proven" individuals even though they may be past their best.
Guys, be realistic. He does NOT deserve to be ahead of SWP. I think he played well once or twice for us but he is no where near the quality we need and shouldn't even take a place in our championship squad. I have nothing against him but he should move on. He almost sounds arrogant in this interview.
Was promising as an 18 year old but has not excelled when sent on loan to the lower league and isn't Championship standard . No great loss if he wants to move on
