Just about worth a punt I reckon as long as its sensible affordable terms, has the Stearman saga definately gone cold?
Got a feeling we may make a move for Stearman late on in the window, most likely with a season long loan. One thing's for sure, we need a first choice right back. With regards to Bramble, assuming the wages aren't an issue he would be a class signing but I have a feeling it won't go through. We could have a potential defense of: Hewitt, Stearman Bramble, Chambers, Smith, Khumalo Cresswell, Mings Surely that has to be one of the strongest in the league!?
I think Wolves need to sell and rather than being held to ransom (for once!) we have simply said, we are interested but we don't want to pay silly money. Probably be a case of who blinks first
Ideally I'd like us to sign Stearman, although I think wages will be a massive problem and I'm sure there'll be other clubs willing to pay out for him. However I really hope we don't sign his as a RB for me he's a CB who can play RB but he's fairly limited in that position. Would much rather us see sign that bloke who's been released from Man U as a RB.
Yes looks like we are close to completing a deal for this Veseli bloke who by all accounts sounds like a very good prospect. Also reports are we've offered Berra a contract and are in talks with Khumalo of Tottenham. I have to say he's the only player (Khumalo) which doesn't really fill me with a great deal of excitement as it would be a loan deal and he sounds a bit like he has Sonko's playing style, great in the air but poor on the floor. Would rather we signed Berra or Stearman or Bramble for the CB positions as they are better players. So if we sign Veseli and one out of Berra/Bramble/Stearman, I'd agree with you Bleakers and say we have a great backline. The rest of our team doesn't overly excite me however. It also seems that we definitely won't be getting another keeper as Mick has said Gerken and Loach will be fighting it out for number 1 spot with Crowe as backup, can't say I think either are anything special.
If Bramble did sign he would be expecting to play and at 31 i would expect him to be a starter or it would be a waste of time signing him........................that said who do you drop to fit him in Smith or Champers?
True Weighty but surely that would be good for competition and I'm sure most players are coming here to play
I would like to see us with an established 11 that play every game, forget rotation if we get an injury bring in a reserve/youngster.
I agree i don't really like rotation its much better to have a settled starting 11 but players should earn their place in the team and this comes from having good competition in the squad. In the Burley days we had 5/6 decent CBs fighting for a place in the team
