Ok folks, we believe that BMD is in talks today or tommorrow with the club about his targets and especially this player he's been after for ages. Lets see if we can make a stab at who he is and see how silly or likeley it is. Your right, it could literally be anyone Saying that I doubt its Tom Pope. I don't claim to know anything about him but just looking he is a striker and I can't see us signing anymore strikers. I think I'd like it to be Dawson but I'm not sure how likely it is, I'm gonna have a wild guess at Harry Maguire from Sheffield United but that is just me saying a name out of the blue

My neighbour is Ashley Vincent who played on the wing last season for Vale, I knew he had refused to sign a new contract, even though he helped them win promotion. So I thought surely its not him, is it ...... no he just signed for Cheltenham again yesterday. Tom Pope though, now he's the Jordan Rhodes of last season and we all know Rhodes carried on scoring at a higher level
Not sure what the deal is with Tom Pope - he's 27 now and scored half of his career to date goals last season. Prior to last season his record was awful - 17 goals in 64 games for Crewe in League 1, 6 in 59 for Rotherham in League 2, 8 in 58 for Port Vale in League 2 prior to last season, then he banged in 33 in 46 last season - got to wonder if he has been under-achieving all his career, or was last season one of those flukey one-offs? Would be a big gamble for a Championship side to sign him, but he might be a very late developer that may still get better!
I think McD said it was someone fans would be familiar with and excited about. Dont think those names fall into that category. I'm going for Max
They seem to be doing ok mate, they signed Dale Jennings so we'll just have to see how he does at Oakwell
What the squad needs most of all is a central midfielder, an older, experienced pro who's been around a bit, nothing too flashy, no frills, none of that fancy dan stuff We're a bit lacking in that department
Can't see it being a winger or wide player as one would not be enough. We have an abundance of central midfield players. Can't see it being a striker and I am hoping Poleon will impress Only leaves a defender or keeper, none of us would get that excited about a keeper so my money is on a CB
