    I think we have more chance with damiao than Banega. I could imagine damiao believing that he would be taking a setp forward in his career. With banega it would be at best a step sideways but really from Valencia to Southampton would be a step down in almost every way other than financial. We could sell our potential to him but right now I don't think banega would be too impressed.

    Seriously doubt he would want to some here until we are playing eurpoean football even then he would prefer many other teams

    If we do sign Banega i think it will be the first time we sign a player who is taking a step back, fonte, papa waigo, guly and whoever else moved to southampton believing they would get to the premier league. Banega will be moving from playing champions league to a team that has only a handful of champions league standard players. I think Southampton would be a great move for him but a non-fan and that would include the argentina manager will see it as quite a step backwards
