As long as he is not on massive wages I for one really hopes he signs! He is passionate about the club and will give us some great experience at the back

Just created a similar thread, can we get them merged? As I said in the other thread, I hope he signs. He will give us so great experience and he is passionate about the club.

It is also great to see how MM kept this quiet.

Part of me wants him to sign as he is a true blue, the other part of me doesn't want to break the bank for a player who can make mistakes at the drop of the hat!

Then i start thinking that being back home might sort his head out, then there is the off field problems.

    See what i mean!

At championship level he is a very good defender and at 31 he still should have a few good seasons left. I know people will be worried about his wage, but MM and ME have been very wary about splashing cash and have been actively trying to reduce our wage bill so I can only see him being signed if the wage is sensible.

Has the talent to be a top top defender, has all the attributes, strong, fast, good tackler but he is prone to a lapse in concentration. In the past I might have been against this but can't see a problem about it if the money is right as we now have Mick in charge, I mean look at the difference in Tommy Smith since he arrived!! There can't be many CB's to have played as consistently as he has in the PL, you're no mug if you make as many PL appearances as he has!!

Could REALLY help tommy and chambers to learn from him too, I just worry that he will be too expensive for us. We definitely need another CB

I'm not sure he's the type of character to learn off, although in his 30's he still seems like the kind of player who needs a leader next to him telling him what to do. The more I think about it the more I'd like this to happen (as long as the wage is right), would much rather we signed him than this bloke from Tottenham who sounds abit like Sonko (good in the air but awkward on the ground), add that former Man U player to the squad and we have a very solid squad with plenty of competition, i'd say defensively very good but to take us to the next level we'd need that bit of added quality in attacking areas and midfield. But I'm sure we'll be up there next year

Before anyone gets too excited about TB coming back. May I remind you of previous town players who had left and came back, too a poor second spell: Kuqi, Tommy Miller and Dyer are just a few recent ones.

I do trust mick to make the right call, let's just hope Titus proves me wrong.

As strange as this may sound, i think Titus would be better in the premier than in the championship. The prem is more technical, and he is a very good reader of the game, but in the championship, it's more hustle and bustle and you need a strong physical presence at the back. Yes, i know he's a strong lad, bet he doesn't seem the type to put himself about a bit and get stuck in.
I for one would not be too happy if he returned, i think we can do better than that, and find players that are younger and more hungrier to succeed.

I think Bramble is definitely prepared to get stuck in, something from his first spell at the club I can always remember was watching Henry running full pace down the wing and Bramble smacking into him with a thunderous tackle, Henry knew he was in for a game and looked fairly shaken but it was a fair tackle if a little strong.

I don't think we could do any better in terms of talent but it's whether he's what the club needs and isn't here just for a couple of seasons to wind down before retirement but I can't imagine Mick would let him rest on his laurels!!

Him signing would certainly excite me, something I cannot say about any other player we've signed this summer but would that go against the grain of solid and steady signings?

On another note I see Alan Lee has joined the coaching staff at the academy.

    Definately NOT.
Good player although prone to an horrendous blip once or twice a season.
Hits the headlines for all the wrong reasons (normally rape) and again it is on a regular basis.
With Tommy and Chambers we have a decent enough central defensive pairing and although we need additions I would prefer us look for a younger player on a sensible wage (I cant see bramble going from 30k a week to 5k (for example have no ideas on his wages but imagine they are fairly high))

He never broke sweat in the game last night so not bad for a team without any real quality! The real star from last night is October and what a goal to announce his arrival <ok>

A big yes for me. WAY better than Smith or Chambers, a lot stronger too.

" Before anyone gets too excited about TB coming back. May I remind you of previous town players who had left and came back, too a poor second spell: Kuqi, Tommy Miller and Dyer are just a few recent ones. "

Kuqi?! He played 3 games for us, and in the 2-1 at home to Norwich before he got injured, he was absolutely battering them and was playing very very well! He did well second time around, albeit in a small amount of playing time.

Miller wasn't even a great player first time, we had a much better team around him which made him more free to do what he could. He was what the Dr orderer second time, with our budget.

Dyer wasn't even remotely fit, so I cannot compare the Bramble resgining to Dyer. Not a very good trio to compare this signing with at all!
