Here it is: http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2013/j...=hoot&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=marathon As hinted by those leaked pictures, the new main sponsor is Marathonbet, a gambling site.
It states the sponsorship deal is the best we have ever had, anyone one know how much we got from the previous one?
The FoxPro deal was worth £4.2m which was slight improvement (£200k) on the LG one. please log in to view this image Source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2177011/Football-shirt-sponsorship-deals-rise-combined-total-147m.html?ITO=1490 PS the Kappa deal for the shirts was £800k per year so hopefully the Adidas one is a whack better. .
Marathon seems like an odd company, the website looks pretty basic and they don't seem to have a UK wiki page- must be brand new to the market, I've never heard of them before/
First reactions were not good from me. Really don't like the sponsor, betting companies are just tacky. However, in hindsight I'm slowly coming round, I really like the shorts. Why was Berbatov not used on the promotional campaign? He is the biggest attraction after all.
I've given it a few days, but I'm still pretty underwhelmed by the new kit. Bandit, you're right about the shorts, but other than that I'm not a fan. Regardless of what the sponsors actually do, I don't even like the font they've used for the sponsor's logo. Oh well.
Don't fully understand the post- but presume you mean me not hearing of them doesn't make them odd. That wasn't really my point, it was more the basic website and lack of UK wiki page - this is what is there at the moment http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marathonbet.
Marathonbet are a Russian-out-of Cyprus financed on-line gambling company who as yet don’t have a high profile in the UK. “Established in 1997, Marathonbet is one of the most reputable and reliable online bookmakers. With a reputation built upon trust, Marathonbet obtained an e-gaming licence through Alderney Gambling Control Commission. This was followed with a licence from Curacao, Netherlands Antilles, were now permitted to provide online and retail gaming and gambling services in an extensive range of countries.” Source: http://www.betshoot.com/bookmakers-reviews/marathonbet-review/ So they began the same year MAF took us over and only 101 years after we moved into Craven Cottage. Their relative newness and the precis above doesn’t quite sit with the Marathon CEO’s comment at the shirt unveiling when he said, “Marathonbet, like Fulham is unique in its tradition and values”. I think they started their UK ‘base’ when they took over a betting mob on the South Coast in the early 2000s (might even have been as late as 2007) and it’s that company’s website which they still use. And, as you suggest Silky, it’s not very impressive. ‘Jejune’ comes to mind as a word to describe them. For what it’s worth : “05/14/2013 MarathonBet - Sportsbook have upgraded from B- to B” As I said, they haven’t really broken into the UK market yet and my guess is that they’re using us as a platform. Can’t say that I’m happy but if that means more money in the wage and transfer coffers … oh well.
Yeah, I guess sponsorship money is sponsorship money, certainly these days. The kit's alright I suppose, I preferred last season's home kit though. I'll say it again though, our away strip last season was worse than anything we'll see this season (famous last words?).
Has anyone ordered and received a shirt yet? If so, any advice on sizes would be gratefully received (my ego is still trying to recover from ordering a 5xl kappa shirt)!
Welcome Bobby. Got to admit I haven't bought a shirt since 2001 please log in to view this image And only did that because they were going to change the badge. I'd wait until the first friendly in Costa Rica and see what the new shirt looks like on JAR - he's always a good guage on which XL category to go for.
Cheers C56. Papa Boupa Diop used to be my shirt size guide. We could do with signing another big unit to boss midfield (plus it would make me feel better). Has Jan Molby retired?!
I didn't initially like this kit, but after seeing the players wearing it in Costa Rica it has grown on me.
