Harry redknapp has told sky sports that no rangers players will be going out on loan this season. If clubs want to sign the likes of Taarabt and Caesar, then they have to stump up the cash to buy them or forget about a deal. Can't seem to get the article up here using my phone. But he's also left the door open for Adel to stay, if he gets fit and works hard.......
Harry Redknapp has revealed QPR will not let goalkeeper Julio Cesar or midfielder Adel Taarabt leave on loan this summer. Brazil stopper Cesar has been linked with a season-long loan to Napoli as he aims to safeguard his international place ahead of next summer's World Cup finals. And newspaper reports on Tuesday claimed Hull manager Steve Bruce wants playmaker Taarabt on similar terms. But Redknapp has told interested clubs to make a cash offer or forget about signing either player. In regards to Cesar, he told Sky Sports News: "I can't see the sense in loaning him for a year. He's got three years left on his contract, he's just played for Brazil in the Confederations Cup and been absolutely fantastic. "I think he's a goalkeeper for any team in the world he's that good, so to loan him out for a year and then have him back is absolutely pointless. "What's the point in loaning him for a year then getting him back on massive wages for another two years? He's in his prime at the moment, I'm sure he's wanted by lots of clubs around the world. "If he wants to leave, we sell him. Napoli are not short of money, they're just selling Cavani for £54million, so if they want him surely they've got to come and do a deal. "We have to do a deal that suits the football club and not deals that suit agents and other people." On Taarabt, he said: "There's talk about him going to Hull on loan. What's the good in that? If he wants to go, let somebody come and pay the money for him. "If nobody wants to buy him, he stays here and he gets fit. He has to show he's a good player and help to get QPR back in the Premier League. "If he really wants to go that bad and someone wants him - pick up the phone, make an offer and we'll do some business. No problem." Agree with you Norway, Harry is talking sense. If other clubs want our better players, pay the cash or go away.
I'm in shock! He's actually talking complete sense for once. Hopefully this is the new Harry, and long may it continue. He didn't sound too hopeful about Hooper, but he's probably wisely keeping his cards close to his chest.
Redknapp finally saying something in the media we all agree with. We're playing a bit of hard ball and that's a good thing. I like the fact we're not p**sing around anymore, clubs and players will take us more seriously. Both our signings so far have taken a step down when they didn't really have to (Simpson especially) and it shows we're still ambitious and learning our lessons. If we clinch the signing of Hooper (Which is increasingly likely according to David Mcintyre of West London Sport) then we'll send a real message of intent to the rest of the league. Even more so if we can keep Remy until Christmas as well.
That's what I want to hear. Pay up or buck off. Just a reminder I suppose that the vast majority of what we read in the rags is pure rubbish.
Also sadly it's a reminder of how poor we were in our teansfer dealings the last 2 years....... Still onwards and upwards....
Lovely stuff. Nice to see him making sense for a change. I might be doing him a disservice but I suspect this has come from the top down but even if that is the case at least he’s ‘on message’ for a change. Great point he makes about Napoli. Cesar is the best example. If clubs wants to sign him then pay up If he wants to play in the world cup he will probably need a pay cut. Adel wont train harder because but will inevitably get back in the side and save our season when Arry is forced to play him because he realises Park and SWP cant create any chances
Well said Harry! All this Taarabt crap 'Barcelona want me' etc, if they want you that bad then they would pick up the phone as Harry said.
