No he doesn't. He think the branding should be Tigers but that the club should be, and always will be, Hull City. From the man and his son.
It's "THE" Tigers, but both Papa and Junior have called us Hull Tigers in several recent interviews, so I suspect you've been told a white lie.
This idea that the name change will generate more revenue is a complete nonsense. Possibly the reason no other club has done it.
Are Hull City Being Re-Branded By Stealth? http://twohundredpercent.net/?p=23752 Not bad, apart from getting Assem's nationality wrong.
That's the biggest load of bollocks I've read on this subject, and that's saying something. Foreign? OK he's originally from Egypt but he's lived, worked and contributed to the local economy for longer than most on here. He's not like someone just fancying owning a football club in another country. The statements from the club have been pretty simple to understand, but I guess people like to promote their own agendas/conspiracy theories. The red tops would be proud of that level of nothing and hysteria. If someone can give me a date or time frame in which the badge on the shirts is going to change, I'd be grateful. Even if, and its a huge if, the name of the club changes, I'm still not going to get my knickers in a twist over the removal of "AFC. The".
At least they got my tweet and changed his nationality. Nick Thompson is being interviewed on Sportstalk tonight, about Hull City Tigers/Hull Tigers. They tried to get Assem or Ehab, but neither were available.
Considering the marketing department at City (bar the odd work experience kid) seems to be non-existent, I imagine the club are being fed a line from a marketing firm from down South who have no connection or knowledge of the history of the club, persuading the club that their branding will bring in more money/sales. Not sure how anyone can like the bottom right programme design, it looks cheap - like a picture has been plonked into a basic word document. That said; if the club had an actual marketing department, that design could easily become interactive with fans, as the image is the same shape as an Instgram image. The club could post up (say) 10 pics a week or so to the clubs Facebook page before each game and ask fans to Instagram the pics in their own style adding a competition hashtag to the image - the club then looks through the images tagged with that hashtag and picks a winner for the front of the next games programme. ...like I said though, the club don't have a marketing department to come up with these ideas that help involve the fans with the club more.
Speaking of non-existent marketing from the club, surely with our height of success at the moment, the brilliant weather we're having, our geographical location and the state of retail unit occupancy, we should be taking advantage of all these facts and opening up pop-up Tiger Leisure stores for July-September in Bridlington and Scarborough, possibly one at Hornsea Freeport too, as the retail occupancy there is appalling, but it's still really busy when the sun is out. We could be taking advantage of kids at the seaside, bringing in new fans - think of all the little wessie kids we could be making City fans in the process. It makes more sense than trying to convince Asia that we're 'their' team as we're nicknamed the Tigers.
Hull City have had TIGERS on top of the front cover in the past so whats the issue here ? Looks quite good so far.
Any re-branding of the club may just have something to do with the major investment coming into the club that has been long rumoured this summer.
So how did you find out then ? Nothing has been set in stone just yet. From the negative feedback so far i suspect any change will just be for marketing purposes.

A typical French Tickler uses a number of bumps, protrusions, crests and falls in the lining of the latex ostensibly to make sexual intercourse more enjoyable or pleasurable".
