http://www.caughtoffside.com/2013/07/15/exclusive-arsenal-to-offer-22m-for-swansea-city-pair/ far too low a value, besides it undoes a lot of our good work over the transfer window.
michu is worth 22m alone. I take it by the above comments that caught offside is a crap read full of rumours and innuendo?
So Saurez is worth £35m but Michu is only worth £12m? Hilarious if it wasn't so pathetically ill-informed. Another example of "it's only little Swansea so we'll offer a derisory amount". Arsenal should have learnt from their Emirates thumping that we're no mugs!!!
I always laugh when I read these articles - always refering to Michu as being ideal to spearhead the attack when he is adamant that he wants to play in midfield. In fact that is part of why there has been such a rush to get a couple of srtikers in. Anyone who has scouted him out, assessed and contrasted his goalscroing as a midfielder and as a striker would know where he should be playing. £22m is really a figure grasped out of thin air - then again they are pushing their luck with Suarez and may think that they can stoke things up with a stupid offer before getting the two players for something like £26-28million. Which would still be too low. In all honesty, I'm not sure about Arsenal going for Michu. He's older than they'd normally go for and only two seasons in top divisions. There are plenty of other players they should go for before. If I was them, I'd go for Benteke - especially if their looking for a figure head. But he's a younger player with better resale.
I can't see why we'd sell michu for any less than 20 million. I'm not saying he is or isn't worth that, I just feel to replace someone like that would either take another piece of genius in the market or that kind of price. Every window you see several less effective players going for very inflated and similar prices, can't see selling him for 12 or 15 being considered too strongly. As for Ash, getting 10m for a centre half soon turning 29 seems far more interesting than selling michu for the prices discussed. Don't really see either leaving in the current window though.
Besides there is no point all these teams talking about signing Michu as their new striker, he is a midfielder who has done a great job out of position for us and wants to go back to his preferred position! So Arsenal jog on!
nothing is rubbish these days, anything can happen at any time while we are in the transfer window. I prefer to see who has joined and wait until the full squad is named and sent to the premiership bosses...we wont have long to wait we play our first game in two weeks time...
Bollocks. Lazy journalism as usual, linking any and every Swansea player to either Liverpool or Arsenal.
