He's having a trial at Chesterfield, having been recommended by former team mate Liam Cooper. Check out this free kick from the donkey faced one in the Spirerites pre season game against Huddersfield!
Apparently the Chesterfield fans think he's too lightweight, not looking favourable. He might have to drop into non league, but then Grimsby said he hadn't done enough to secure a contract. I think he'll either join a Conference side or go back to Ireland.
I think he can have a future at league 1/championship level if he gets the chance. It's true he's very lightweight but most wingers are, he's tidy and clever with the ball and seems to get himself in decent positions from what we ever saw of him.
Yeh, hopefully he goes on to be a decent player. Saw him last at rochdale pre season and he played ok, good movement and technique
I think he's ****e AND he's got an attitude problem. His Twitter rants about being dropped at Bratfud were pathetic. Edit - that was him wasnt it? If not then apologies!
Can't remember, but even so, he's still fairly young, and a bit of disciplinary would set him in line. Alot of clubs these days have bans on certain, if not all players having twitter. Sheffield United being one. It seems to work for that.
I know in our last EPL stint that after the Jozy farce when we said he was injured and he revealed he turned up late the players were told it was fine to use Twitter but not to mention / reference football in any way. Just bloody ban them if you ask me.
I'm not sure it was. I remember something about him not being happy. He is a big user of Twitter, so maybe. He doesn't have an attitude problem, he's always been alright when I've met him. As has 'the big I am' Tom Cairney, who is honestly one of the nicest footballers I've ever met. Took the time to have a drink with me in the Duke one night. He actually said at the time that he's trying hard to break into the first team and he's happy working under SB. He also said PB was a bit of tit in training, especially once he'd broken through into the first team during our second team.
Has it never occurred to you that when speaking to a fan who is likely to talk to other people or post on messageboards, that they might turn the charm on? Ive met both professionally many, many times and I dislike both of them. But that's just me.
I haven't met too many, but I've met Tom on more than one occasion and he's always come across as a down to earth lad. He took the time to chat in Sugar Mill one Saturday night, which is fair play. He might act differently around others I guess. If I was a player, I'd probably have a sneaky account on here. Like Eldin Jakupovic. Not saying I'm him or anything. I miss Zurich...
