    As for Banega...if we sign another MF, what kind of formation are we going to play? Very tough competition in that position.

    Apparently that italian isn't prolific in italy.

    At that age and with that record it doesn't excite me but i've never seen him play.

    In the 17 games he started last season he scored 11 and assisted 2. Which is not bad at all.

    Wish the the statistic sites could show this kind of detail as it's obviously pertinent.

    Then again it would also be important to know how many times a player didn't finish the game.

    I wouldn't feel to comfortable spending 12m on a 30 year old player no matter how good they are. We are only going to make a loss on them even if they do score some goals.

    The other players we've bought, even though they haven't been cheap, are likely to make us some profit in the long run as you would expect i number of them to improve and be worth more in the future.

    It's a compliment to be linked with players of his calibre but I wouldn't want us to buy him, it's not the Southampton way.
