That is definitely true. It is an unpopular opinion but I do believe he offers more than Giroud does, if it was up to me and we could only offload one of them it would be the Frenchman.

Different types of player - and they both offer the team something, but need to be more consistent. Giroud had a decent enough first season, scored 11 and helped link up play and set up chances, he's a good team player. Gervinho is more of an individual flair type player and can dribble and score, but doesn't do it often enough. He's 27 now too, so I'm not sure we can expect much more from him. Decent impact sub.

Giroud offers more to the team though and through the course of the season would be a more effective player.

I voted to keep him. We have two strikers that are a lot higher on our priority list to offload in Bendtner and Chamakh. With all of the changes this offseason it may help to have one or two familiar faces that, although inconsistent, have the potential to be great impact subs. We also would get a bargain basement price for him seeing as his form/lack of performances aren't turning any buying clubs' heads.

Some say Gervinho is a good squad player. He is not. He lacks any confidence and the more he sits on the bench the worse he is as a player. That's the problem with Gervinho - he needs to be played regularly to be any good. He has to go and find a club where he can play every week.

I don't really agree with that, whenever Gervinho has had a run in the team he gradually gets worse with every appearance. When we have used him sparingly he has been of use to us sometimes. That being said, he is at the stage of his career where he is going to want to play regularly and now is the best possible time to sell him as he did end the season with a bit of credibility left to his name.

Roma launch £6.9m bid for Gervinho but Lyon may offer Gourcuff to sway Arsenal
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...wanted-Roma-Lyon-offer-Yoan-Gourcuff-too.html

He's a decent player but far too frustrating at times. He lacks decisiveness and his finishing is below the required standard for a team as big as Arsenal. Also the article seems to suggest Lyon will be offering a swap deal with Gourcuff. He was once a very good player but now seems to be involved in a swap deal for Gervinho.

If we are looking to sign Suarez and Fellaini, we will need to sell the likes of Gervinho to make up some money, selling Gervinho, Santos, and Bendtner can bring us over 10 million combined, not HUGE money, but enough money needed if we want to sign another CB, if we have 70 million to spend, Suarez and Fellaini alone will take up more than 60 million of that cash, so that small extra 10 million will come in handy, that is off course, if we decide to spend that much on Suarez and Fellaini.

I think a loan deal to a Premierships side where he can play 20/30 games would be great for him but i dont think there is a manager stupid enough to try that.........
