I would like fulham home, because i beleive that with a few solid aquisitions the swans can look to match them and aim for mid table safety next season, and they would be a good yardstick on which to gauge ourselves next season,
Yea Fulham would be nice, i would like an early win to as we always seem to start off a bit unsteady!. I think a team like Bolton/ Fulham/ Stoke would be great!. Wouldn't want an early top four just so we can have a bit of time to settle and for this magic to sink in haha!
Liverpool away . Dedicated to the die hard away fans !. Nice little trip to Anfield to start the ball rolling to let it all sink in .
My first thought was Wigan. Then I thought further and would want to play them when we have settled in a bit and the new players given time to gel. Don't want to make it too easy for Martinez.
I started a thread on thier board a couple of days back but for me for the last couple of seasons i've always wanted Arsenal,Two teams who pass the ball with such delight and i would want to see how we fair against until now the PL pass masters.
I'd like Fulham as my Girlfriends cousin is Simon Davies so that will lead to some good banter!!!! Well who ever it is, we'll give em a good game!!!
Liverpool at home. Last time around we all thought Leeds were going to be a problem and we pasted them. Can't see the 'pool being that bad but we might be that good.
match 1)Norwich at home then Match 2)Fulham away (dependant upon who their new manager is...dave jones anyone?). match 3)Wolves home. match 4)top 5 team away (to get it over with). 6 to 9 point possible realistically for first 4 games with one being a top 5. Is that too much of wishfull thinking. STID
Got to be Arsenal at home, what a day that would be. A real bench mark of a game. Would we be 'Swanselona' or the 'Arsenal of the championship'? Cant wait to find out.
Don't want the top teams too soon. We will have new players who would have to gel with the others plus the entire squad need to get up to pace with the Premiership. I know there's no easy games but I would prefer a "gentle" induction against teams that we should have a chance of beating. Too many clatterings early on might see morale crumble and a bit of a loser's mentality set in. Once we are attuned to the pace and requirements of the Division, we can face the top teams with more confidence.
One of the top four at home on the first day, how special would that be! Plus, I also think that would be the best time to get an upset, with players not in their stride, Swans really up for it with a frenzied crowd behind them. Man Utd at home to kick us off - Champions against newcomers - what a test that would be!
First game at home and result will be 5-1 to the Swans. And the Swans to never be out of the top six all season. What are the odds anyone. And before anyone says it , Leeds WERE a BIG team and FAMOUS back then ,....lol
