This summer has seen a huge transition at Goodison Park, the appointment of a new manager, and the whole change of direction that brings. The signings of Kone and Alcaraz are solid ones, ones that'll strengthen your squad, and Joel Robles, a very talented young stopper with a big future. However I get the impression your not overly excited by these purchases? Maybe because they played a part in Wigans relegation? Or that they aren't the explosive players your looking for? Well let me introduce to you Senor Deulofeu. If Luis Alberto is wagging tongues over the park, then this lad must be wagging every other waggable appendage your end. A mere 18 goals in Spain's Segunda division last season, at 18/19 years of age playing on the wing, 7 caps for the under 21 national team and scoring 3 goals along the way. You have a player here with pace, maturity, an eye for a killer pass and a goalscoring touch. Someone who on his day, can make the best look average, mark my words...he's a real talent. To put it simply, please enjoy him, look after him, because if you don't, you may well waste what could become the best. He will be a Barcelona star, and to say he wore your crest with pride is a bigger privilege for you than it is him.
Hi Mate, the signings so far are Ok but not overly exciting. Kone looked decent last season, but no World beater. Alcaraz - can't really comment, but Wigans defence was ****, so not sure tbh. Robles looks like a decent keeper when I've seen him, so I'm quite happy with that one, as Howard needs some quality competition. As for young Gerard, he sounds like a really exciting prospect, he looks mustard on the obligatory You Tube compilation & I've heard nothing but glowing praise for the lad, so I'm looking forward to seeing him at Goodison.
Alcaraz missing a big chunk of the season for Wigan never helped. He and Stones could have had a game of cards and broke out the cigars against QPR.... To be fair he walked Stones through the Stoke game too, a bargain is are Alcatraz!
