I think there are quite a few squad changes still to happen and if we get the right bodies in I think we could be looking at closer to 100 but until I see who leaves and who arrives I'll wait a few weeks before working out what I think we will be able to do.
I love your optimism Hawk, but I just dont share it. I'm going for 74 points because of a (relatively) new manager, new (largely) squad and the inevitable injuries, suspensions and that fact that most other teams in L1 will see beating City as a real scalp...Wolves and Sheff U excepted. If we get 100 I'll be the first in the pub and the last out !
Always have been a pesamistic optimist I expect things to go wrong but always hope I'm wrong just this time for the first time in a while there is something about the squad that is being put together that fills me with more hope than I have had for many years, It's almost as though S O'D has seen the squad through the eyes of the fans and is busy doing what should have been done 2-3 years ago just a few more to ease out of the door and some more hungry players to add and I think it will be party time for the fans at the Gate come the end of the season. I do not expect us to walk away with things at the start but by end September early October I expect a team to be playing proper football at the Gate and looking at the teams that have been promoted from L1 in the last 10 years most of them were sides that played good football and a fair few of them did well in the championship and beyond.
To be totally honest when Albert leaves if Sean can bring in a striker who will score regularly and a 'no one gets past me' midfielder I think the season could be really special If we get the players I think we need this is what I will go for Home 23 - 16 - 4 - 3 Away 23 - 12 - 5 - 6 total 93 sorry I miscounted before Scorers If we get him Sharp 27, Baldock 19, Jay E T 14, Wagstaff 10, Flint 7, Others inc OGs 13. That is assuming we play 2 strikers at home and one up top away. Isn't it a great time to be optimistic before the first game of the season when reality can sometimes bite. So that's 93 points 52 Home and 41 away I think we are going to be hard to score against but I can't see us scoring loads of goals either a lot of 1-0's, 2-0's or 2-1's unless we get another pacy striker then we could see goals for fun, part of this is based on the fact that Sean wants Pack signed up before Saturday to replace Kelly. Had to alter my predictions as I hoped Albert would still be at AG and would win a couple of games for us. Home 23 - 16 - 4 - 3 Away 23 - 12 - 5 - 6 total 93
Hawk, we already have one - in a mobile and fluid midfield, you won't get anyone better than Marv at his best to play this specalist role.....
I was looking about 2 pts a game, just lose 3 times at home draw 4 = 52 Away lose 5 draw 8 win 10 = 40 thought nah, we will win 15 home games and win 8 games away and draw 12, losing 11 that's a one in 4 loss...............
since we were second in div 1 91 85, we won 25 drew 10 lost 11 and GF 63 GA 39 83 OTHER TOP 3'S HAVE BEEN ...92.82.80........96.89.87.........95.86.85...........95.92.87.......101.93.90........84.83.79...... LOWEST POINTS IN 6TH HAVE BEEN:- 75.....76.....76.....80..Hudds in 2009/10.......71..Bourne in 2010/11.....73......74 LAST SEASON, so playoffs are really about getting 75 POINTS
I feel that we have a chance to do something special this year just another couple of pieces to add to the jigsaw and then make sure we can build the bloody thing.
Bradford are on a high after their LC Final appearance and promotion. It's good we have a decent test to start with and I'm glad we're at home so here's hoping we get off to a flier
we played galatasaray Turkish champions on Saturday. narrowly lost 3-0 to drogba and co. do hope city fear better at nempnett thrubwell!
Nempnett dont worry me. Hinton Blewitt (where they make the pudding without any suet as the legend has it) away are more of a concern
