Left midfield absolutely sorted and AJ on the right looks promising for next season.

Emanuele Giaccherini will have a medical at Sunderland's training camp in Italy on Monday.... http://t.co/pVAakOmM6P

@SAFCsource: With Mavrias and Peruzzi also due at the same time, we could have a triple unveiling!

First time I've wished the weekend to be over!

Juventus have bowed to the wishes of Emanuele Giaccherini in agreeing a fee for the midfielder with Sunderland.

It was revealed on Thursday that the Black Cats had seen an offer for the Italy international accepted.

Juventus are reluctant sellers, as they prepare to part with a 28-year-old winger in his prime, but accept that he wants to find regular first-team football.

They cannot guarantee him that in Turin and have reluctantly sanctioned a sale to Sunderland.

Juve's general manager Giuseppe Marotta said: "In Giaccherini's transfer to Sunderland, the will of the player had priority over the club's.

"Emanuele evaluated, not only the economic aspects but also the standing he will have at Sunderland, and it was a challenge he decided to accept. We have gone along with his wishes."

Meanwhile, Marotta has revealed that Juventus have dropped their interest in Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic - who continues to be linked with the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea.

He added: "We have given up on Jovetic because with (Carlos) Tevez and (Fernando) Llorente we are satisfied with our attack.

"Jovetic was one of several targets but now he has become unattainable - not because we can't take him, but because we are proud of Tevez's arrival and think we have completed our attack."

Well that's a surprise. He wants the move! <party>

Emanuele Giaccherini is expected to complete his move from Juventus to Sunderland on Monday.

The Italy international is due to join Paolo Di Canio’s men in a deal worth €8m, and will fly to the North East next week to undergo a medical.

The 28-year-old signed for the Bianconeri in 2011 from Cesena, but was used sparingly by Antonio Conte starting just 10 League games last term.

It is believed the move was only delayed because Giaccherini's wife gave birth to daughter Caterina on Thursday.

    ****ING GIACCHERINI.

    McClean to Giaccherini

    <yikes>

Edit: no disrespect to McClean, lad gives his all, and who knows, if he stays he may be as half as good as he looked when he first came! Giaccherini is just next level!

Looks a late developer as most of his career was in the lower Italian div at Cesena and just broken into Italian squad so looks mare a steady eddie rather than an inspirational signing. Realistic for the price and hopefully solve the left back situation.

He's not a left back and he's probably the most inspirational signing of the last 20 years mate.

Must admit to finding out about his career from Wikipedia. Not a first choice Juventus player so just a routine squad man for them, which tells me he is a routine signing rather than an inspirational one.

Juve have one of the best midfields in the world and Conte is gutted to be losing him, that tells me all I need to know. No Man Utd midfield would even make Juve's bench imo. This is a next level signing that will have people looking at us.

Bizarre logic imo, the bloke is an experienced full international. What do you want? Messi, Hamsik and Hazard next through the door? Think you're forgetting who we are mate.
