Is Baldock actually likely to want out? No one seems to want him, and if anyone does it'll be a bottom-of-the-table Championship side. It'd make a lot more sense for Baldock to stick with us, since League 1 is probably closer to his level.
I think the only interest he might generate would be from one of the recently promoted teams....Yeovil, AFC Bournemouth or Donny ? An established Championship team looking to push on wont want to take a gamble I wouldnt have thought
You can certainly say he hasn't lived up to his billing when we signed him last year, always injured, he didn't score enough goals, simple as that. Someone would argue that he wasn't given the service, but every chance he did have he missed it. League 1 is his level, and if he can keep him he will get us 15-20 goals if he keeps injury free
I thought before last season ended odriscol said baldock would be staying on radio bristol he was bascilly saying he was building the team round him for this coming season, looks like davies will be staying too i actually think he is a better player than baldock is similar to pitman id expect him to hit 20/25 if fit all season baldock 15/20 tayor 3/6 jet 8/12
If/When we lose Albert and Greg we already have replacements in Wagstaff and Bryan but we will need to sort out deputies for them plus if Baldock or Davies leaves we will have to find replacements the future still is looking much brighter than it was a few months back as most of us were expecting us to lose Albert and Greg if not resigned to it but we were also thinking Nyatanga and Foster would still be here as well and none really took seriously the first rumours that Jay would be arriving at Ashton Gate.
I've never heard anything so ridiculous in all my life. Sam is certainly WAY too good for league One and if he manages a full season, I will eat my hat if he doesn't score a minimum of 25 goals and I reckon probably 30+ especially now that it looks like we will have a midfield to feed the ball onto the end of his million runs per game. Put him in a crap team and he will look ordinary but in a good team and he will look great. This kind of talk reminds me of the people who wanted to send Nicky Maynard back to league One on loan because they didn't think much of him....
Sam Baldock will score a shed load this year, he has had 2 hard years with injuries, to me he's another Brett Pitman but plays more for the team. Me I would of tried pairing Baldock and Pitman together when we had the chance. Neville and Rilly wasn't tall forwards but they were still good together.
Just think ROD.......Baldock and Davies (who I know you like...in a manly kind of way?) being fed by your secret passion Killa (who we all know you LURV in a not so manly way!)....
