They actually made more sense than some of our fans. At least when they name our team, they don't leave out Lambert
This is one of the more bizarre reactions to the news: http://www.london24.com/sport/arsen...al_to_celtic_midfielder_s_signature_1_2275327 Complete with a nice picture of Mr. Wenger, but the article doesn't mention Arsenal at all!
Some good stuff being said here: http://forums.liverpoolfc.com/threads/341755-Southampton-watch Including: " I've said this a million times since last season, but I think they'll be a top 8 club within the next 5 years, and I don't mean one season wonders. They have a great academy, good stadium, money etc. "
Was told at a function that Martin Samuel is the ultimate snob. This from someone who works as a BBC Producer and has written for most of the broadsheets. Says Samuel was Oxford-educated and is generally very aloof and condescending. Looks down on other people as 'inferior'. He winds me up just reading his column, mind.
What I do find amusing is that a lot of people could be mainly Celtic fans seem to think they will make another load of money when we sell Victor on! Fat chance I'm sure clubs only send people who are expendable to meet NC because they are never seen again! If he full fills his potential then NC will lock him in his own private dungeon and throw away the key!
There's no way we'll be giving them £12,000,000 and a sell on fee. Cortese is one of the best negotiators around.
What a great read the Liverpool thread is! You have to hand it to them up there, they know their stuff ;-)
It's really funny how people take a victory against sarcastic comments re: spending all your time on a transfer thread hoping something is going to happen. "See, I told you I was right spending my whole life here speculating over this transfer". Clever folk on here, no question.
I feel I should add for the avoidance of doubt that I'm chuffed to bits that Victor has signed, I think he gives us exactly what we need.
I'm not sure, I've managed to teach it to my small children following the signing and I'm personally keen that we give it a go.
Well I'd just like to thank those people who put a lot of time into keeping us updated on here, because it's nice to have a clue what's going on.
Is it really though? In all seriousness, not being critical at all, I've been excited by Saints transfer periods for decades and I'm not sure more info is a good thing. I keep telling myself, it's all just bollocks and I'll here about any transfers when they're on the OS. But then I find myself creeping back on here, like a guilty pleasure, at lunch time at work, on the train ... looking for a bit of info ... I'll be so happy when the season starts again and we can talk about football.
