Chamberlain is worth £12m, Wenger knows what he is doing.

And we got £12M for a 17 year old who had never played higher than League One, so I'd say there's a good chance that someone knows what they are doing at the top of SFC. Rupert Lowe would have sold him for a packet of pork scratchings & a few magic beans, so you shall hear no complaints from me.
On Victor, well, we shall have to wait & see........

Quality player, think he'll do well, but was very surprised Southampton would spend so much on a defensive midfielder! Priorities?

Can't stand Scottish football, barely seen this bloke play at all apart from maybe against Barcelona last year.

Southampton and Norwich seem to have a lot of ambition, be good to see some new teams in the mix for Europe if they do well, same as you guys. Hopefully Pocketettinochio or what ever he's called has had a few English lessons over the summer too.

There might not be a greater priority in our pressing system. We play with two defensive mids, both of whom have rather enormous responsibilities...they are the primary level at which the ball is won back, the primary starting point for moves forward, and are expected to make their way into the box at times as well.

Schneiderlin ended up everywhere on the pitch; he led PL midfielders in a host of categories including tackles, interceptions and ground covered under Pochettino, and Wanyama shares some similar qualities. Cork -- the player most likely to lose minutes as a result -- is an excellent player in his own right, but not of the same style. Because of the way we operate, Wanyama shouldn't duplicate Schneiderlin's efforts so much as enhance them; if winning the ball and stifling teams in midfield is the goal, it's hard to imagine a more productive combination.

Fair enough, that does add logic to the sigining, still think you guys need a quality striker, as I fear Lambert may not enjoy the same success he did last year.

That's assuming you don't have any extra money for a striker though!

Expect that we'll get a striker in, potentially another attacking player as well; we know that we've made a big offer for at least one striker, because a Roma director forgot to hang up the phone and accidentally told the press about it.
