Im just stating what Ive seen, theres nothing over the top about that. We looked exactly like we did last season, utterly clueless in the final third.
Too slow and as last year too many cooks. Last year during some of the matches we bossed the play at the times ... we have outstanding players but we are fragile. Exeter have a plan to sit back yet we have no plan B. We made the running in so many games last year yet lost this could be another one of those matches however we have a new side 2nd half. It doesn't take a footballing brain to see what needs to be done here ... step it up quicker sharper and get that goal that unlocks and should kill this lot off. shoot on site apart from Mbia Too many touches in midfield ... do that when you are 2 up. Traore looks outstanding but that is that Yes they other side can't score without the ball yet they have had three chances ... they need to understand goals win games nothing else ... saying that we can the keep the ball nowadays shame we have forgotten the other side of the game
i actually thought Mbia did quite well, he was everywhere, and vast majority of his passes were spot on. did miss a couple at the end though. Granero on the other hand missed some easy passes in the beginning but got better towards the end. Best performer was undoubtedly Traore, good runs with and without the ball, and was good in defence too. Hoillett as clueless as last season, gave the ball away with his every touch. Green took the one ball he had to, not much to do for either goalie.
Caught the last 15 minutes of the first half, and I agree that we're not looking great. We need to buy a left back and release Traore to play further up field.
Too many thinking just knock it about but there is little running off the ball IMO ... no openings no game
Either one of our squads should be good enough on paper to chalk up a few goals. If we do get taken to the cleaners it will be a good wake up call - better to find out now.
Zamora offered absolutely nothing in the 1st half, one of us might as well have been playing. 2nd half looks more open at both ends. Its a bit worrying the players look as bad as they did last season but against L2 sides.
While it is a strange luxury to be watching a live stream of a pre season friendly while sitting in Chicago airport, the camera work is making me feel sea sick. Is it me or are we attempting loads of long balls, none of which come off?
Bosingwa is back to his normal service turning his back on the ref multiple times when he wanted to talk to him - Derry was the peace maker.
Worst performer so far has got to be the cameraman, awful. However, all these negative comments about our first pre-season game, it's ridiculous. They've been training for a week and it looks like they've gone out there for 45 minutes match fitness, what's wrong with that. Yes, if they play like this against Sheff Wed I'd be disappointed but who cares about a pre-season game at Exeter a month before the season kicks off? I'm sure we could have played Bodmin or Tiverton and won 7-0, at least we're playing football league opposition and hopefully we get through it a little bit fitter with no injuries. Nice to see Faurlin back playing for us again though.
I'm totally opposite everybody regards this game. I think we're doing great. It always seems to me that the worst teams do in pre season friendlies, the better season they seem to have. So in that respect, it's great were playing crap. Long may it continue......
