I know people on here feel Adel would lead another charge from Championship promotion, and I'm not saying I disagree but I feel now is the time to sell him. He gives away too much possession in the Premiership and isn't good enough for us to build the team solely around any more. I noticed in one of the first training session videos that he looked unfit and it's no secret he hates the fitness work/pre season aspect of the game. I feel Redknapp and Fernandes are on the war path and Taarabt is a victim. They've gone for a no nonsense approach, which is something we need. TF mentioned on Twitter that he's in charge on the new player fining system and he'd fined 4 already. Adel is surely one of them.
If Adel was going for a legitimate reason, surely the club would dress it up as "AT has returned to London with permission of the club. No further comment at this time". The fact that the club isn't commenting on reports that he has effectively been ordered to leave Devon isn't encouraging.
You might well be right there mate, some Fulham fans are bandying on about a 'done deal', but after all this is silly season!
He made Hangeland, Sidwell & co look like fools at Loftus Road last season so it wouldn't be to big a shock that they noticed him
Adel can be a complete idiot, of that there is no doubt. Bottom line imo is that 'Arry simply doesn't like him!
Tottenham would be due a sum of money equal to the % of the other player's value. So with a 20% sell on clause (for illustration), and you receiving a £1M fee and a player valued at £1M, Tottenham would be due £400k. The value of the p/e player could be challenged by Tottenham and taken to a tribunal if they didn't agree with the valuation yourselves and Fulham placed on their part of the deal. The most likely outcome though is that you go "We £2M for him, but we'll take £1M and this player". Then you'd sell Taarabt in one deal for £1M, and sign the other player on a free transfer in a completely unlinked deal. We did it when we sold Turner to Sunderland. We'd bid £2.5M for McShane, yet suddenly sold Turner at a knockdown price and bought McShane for £500k. It was part of the complaint that Brentford and Charlton made about us at the time. (The other part being that they didn't believe the transfer fee we told them was real until the FA confirmed that it was)
Adel was sent home after turning up late yet again for training. Fined and despatched. Harry really flexing his muscle!
