    It's my belief that if you know a signing is happening for definite, it means it will happen very quickly. How can we know we are signing someone in 6 weeks time? As others have said, why wouldn't we get the player in asap to link up with the side and go through pre season?

    Not saying you made this up, but I think the guy you spoke to quite possibly did.
