Quite laughable that Redknapp thinks Saylor would even contemplate dropping down a division when last season he played in Yewrope and was touted for England quite a bit.

Steven Taylor is wanted by Harry Redknapp at Queens Park Rangers – but the Londoner faces a big battle to persuade the Whitley Bay lad to move south and drop into the Championship.

Academy product Taylor was the subject of interest from Rangers over the weekend, with a swap deal involving Loic Remy mooted by Loftus Road sources.

As reported in the Chronicle last week, Remy has been offered to United and a host of other top-flight sides.

Taylor, though, is content with life on Tyneside and still has three years of his current deal to run.

The defender is very much an ally of Alan Pardew after the Toon boss made it one of his first tasks as boss to take Taylor off the transfer list and hand him a new long-term contract.

And this means that Taylor would be unlikely to hook up with former team-mates Joey Barton and Danny Simpson.

When asked about his future at the end of last term Taylor told the Chronicle: “Every player at this club wants to do well.

“I’m just hoping next season we can surprise a few people, and answer the questions that have been asked of us.

“We want to jump up that league and answer our critics.”

United are looking to move several squad members on this summer, but Taylor isn’t one of them.

Meanwhile, Taylor’s old United colleague Kieron Dyer has announced plans to retire.

Dyer played for Middlesbrough last season but starred for the Magpies during the halcyon days of Bobby Robson.

Wouldn't want to get rid of Taylor and don't think he'd want to go. Even if he did though, QPR would be one of the last places he'd want to go to.

    Taylor has ambition.
He wouldn't leave to go to that lot.

Im still hoping with both Saylor and Colo fit they can put together another defensive run like they did at the start of the 2011/12 season before he ruptured his achilles

All sorts of marvelous things are being revealed at our place, it's plethora of activity and we're all very excited.

How's it going for you lot? Are you happy with your targets? Sinclar would be a cracker but bent and Carlton would be dreadful moves. Is it looking likely that you're keeping your best players? What's the update fellas if you don't mind me asking?

    Steven Taylor to QPR?

    <laugh>

Fuxache man, what kind of half-baked bullshit is that?

Not even Joe Kinnear would be stupid enough to contemplate selling Geordie-lad Taylor.

We don't know if we are satisfied. We have know idea who are targets are. We don't know if we have targets.

I think we'll keep the majority of our best players and get decent cash for anyone who leaves.

How about you: signing people all over the shop obviously. Do you know if any of them are any good ?

The only 'top' player I see us losing is Cabaye, and that's if Blanc stumps up the right amount. I expect our signings to be underwhelming though

I'm not sure they will be. It's quality, not quantity this Summer. I still have a sneaky the club will surprise everyone. Not saying that Lewandoski is secretly a Mag, or that Zlatan fancies a couple of years on Tyneside, but someone like Heung-Min Son of Hamburg who has such a big reputation, or a real player of potential like Luc Castaignos, Gerard Deulofeu, Samed Yesil, Libor Kozák, and so on.

Just like this Zoet bid - whether it's a priority or not - it came out of absolutely nowhere. Keep the faith.

If we're going to lose somebody we're going to lose somebody, it's out of our hands, I just hope it isn't to QPR though.

I do, the wonder of technology eh?

I reckon you could get by without him. One good season and one bad, jury's still out on him and if you make profit. Colo on the other hand is a massive boost for you. You can't replace him, a top 4 club would struggle to replace him so great news for you that he's staying put.

Don't know much about the free agents we got in. I understand Cabral has been a seasoned CL player so it's got to be a step up for us. The latest players lined up are a different level. Peruzzi has agreed a contract and has his medical booked in for friday. 3.3m as well which is a snip. We've just had a 8m bid accepted for Juve's Emanuele Giaccherini. He's due to discuss terms, he doesn't want to leave but Juve want to sell. Remains to be seen if we can tie it up but the media seem to think it will go through. The new american lad looks a tank so should be interesting, and rumors are circulating that we've bid 18m for a player though I'm sceptical. Few young prospects signed as well. We were envious when you were tapping into the french market. Short must have thought 'I want some of that' so made the right contacts, hired the right people and now we're tapping into the italian market. Different world to what we're used to. Exciting and interesting.
