May be bullshit, but it came from an NUFC executive...

So, I work in an audiology department. Today a man came in to get his hearing assessed. I noticed a badge on his T-shirt that said "NUFC Executive" as soon as he walked in, but I didn't want to say anything and stayed on topic of the hearing assessment.

But while we were waiting to get some results by for his audiogram, he asked if I was a Newcastle fan, and I said yes and that I noticed the badge on his t-shirt.

He said "There's going to be a big signing, that will probably happen in the last few weeks of the transfer window". He said he couldn't tell me who it was, but it's not Darren Bent. He said we're going to be signing a forward and a defender definitely.

Might be bullshit, but he works inside the club so I suppose he's as reliable as any news source.

 

Don't see many top NUFC Executive's walking around in t-shirts sporting bages. Did he show you proof that he worked inside the club?

 

Until I see a team photo displaying our 2013-2014 squad I'll treat all rumours as Bullsh.t

I often wear a clubs crest while attending appointments, then give out false rumours, it makes me feel powerful.

It wasn't just stitched on letters. It looked like a legit badge to me. Like when you work in a place where only employees can go and you need a badge in order to gain access to the area.

It was one of them. Had his photo on it, had the Newcastle crest and all other types of info on it. I don't think he'd spend the time faking that just to spread stupid stories.

He didn't really draw attention to it at first, it wasn't until there was a bit of silence while waiting for results until he brought anything football related up. He asked me if I was a fan and then it escalated from there.

All he said was we're going to be making a big signing towards the end of the window, but it's not Darren Bent, and we're signing a forward and a defender.

It's not as if he said "Hey kid. We're signing this guy, but I'm not supposed to tell you so ssshhhh". He didn't mention any names other than Darren Bent who we're not gonna sign.

It's worth at least listening to I guess, but not getting our hopes up over.

No one has a badge saying 'NUFC Executive'.
Think about it... If he works at SJP why would he need the NUFC bit?.. So he doesn't get mixed up with a SAFC one?
If he was an executive... It would give a better description such as 'Admin Executive' etc...

Was coming home after a boring 0-0 against Bolton under Fat Sham and we passed as I was on my way into Central Station and he was coming out with Mike Cort. He asked what the game had been like and what the score had been, I turned around and screwed my face up and said 0-0. He said, "It was that bad was it?" I just said yes, and continued on my way.

 

I should have stopped and given him a full run down on the game and where Fat Sham was going wrong and he may have given me the the managers job.

 

I like to think Cwarr has just gone nuts and has stepped up his bullshit a level.

 

Who's to say anyone within NUFC has the faintest clue? I'd suggest even Pardew only knows so much. He'll have his wishlist and might be able to scale, in his own mind, how likely we are to get those players. Plus "big" is entirely relative. Some might claim Remy is 'big'. Lacina Traore is big.
