As the favoured position of both players is attacking central midfielder who do we think should be played there?

Rotation is the best policy. If form dips then swap, otherwise swap them out when one needs a rest.

Kilkenny wasn't great last season, but in a way he's becoming the new Lee Johnson, and we all know how that turned out. He seems to have his head screwed on, and he seems to want to play good passing football. I'm happy to have him in the side if he can cope with League 1.

Personally think Killkenny has had a rough ride with our fans,i think he is better than a lot give him credit for.

Those players around him were pathetic last season. What could he do, when no player could or would take the ball.
His only option the sideways or backwards pass.

I think he will be a different proposition this coming season.

He could be better at league 1 but I don't buy this "look at the players he had around him" crap. Neil danns had the same and was 100x the player killa is. Kilkenny aint up to scratch and id rather we get rid and use his wages on someone else

Current Centre midfielders in our squad:

    Neil Kilkenny
    Liam Kelly
    Stephen Pearson
    Bobby Reid
    Marvin Elliott
    Jordan Wynter
    Jay Emmanuel-Thomas
    Scott Wagstaff

As you can see we are a bit heavy in that one position so if the club are looking to cut the wage bill you would imagine that a few of these will be going. I also feel a bit sorry for Bobby Reid that he looked good at the end of the season when he finally got his chance has been on all the posters and websites when the club has been trying to sell season tickets and shirts and has gone from likely to be starting teh season to might not make the bench.

I do think though if they could find clubs for them it will leave us with

    Liam Kelly
    Bobby Reid
    Jordan Wynter
    Jay Emmanuel-Thomas
    Scott Wagstaff

I guess my main issue is even with the current players we are missing that hard hitting 'no one gets past me' defensive player that sometimes can be handy to put in the team when required unless Wynter can fit that roll.

we need to wait for the final squad..............

3 strikers (5 with the really youngsters)

mid field could be 3 ADDY, Jet, Kilks plus others so:-

    1 striker/2 strikers
    3 midfield / 4 / 5 midfield (2 wide)
    4 defenders

    a squad of 7 midfield/ wide players

Jet must start ahead of him
if Jet's form dips or injured then Bobby Reid will play the attacking midfield role

Neil Kilkenny IMO is not good enough, never has been since he signed

It seems Killa had a good season when you went back up to the championship, let's hope he can have a good one with us and get us back up.

I really do think he will be different gravy with the right players around him

That was the basis I used to decide if I liked Kilkenny as a player.

People keep saying S O'D likes Kilkenny I'm not so sure about that what S O'D likes is a ball playing midfielder which is why he wanted JET so much that he was prepared in the end to let Anderson go the deal could have been done weeks ago if he hadn't wanted to get JET and keep Anderson.
Obviously in the end he decided that he wanted JET more which gives a very clear picture of the type of football he wants the team to play. Pearson and Kilkenny might be surplus to requirements but it is difficult to see who would want to sign them but if they left Woods if fit would be a good signing just based on what happened in those 2 preseason games but I am worried about what is happening up top as the players either are not on the pitch or playing as though they are not on the pitch if you get my meaning.

If SOD loved NK so much he wouldn't have brought in Jordan Wynter, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Scott Wagstaff (so far).

Hi ROD i think with someone like Jet in the team killa will have the outlet for the telling pass, which to be far he is very good at,someone that will sit behind the main striker and either take the ball on himself or put the killer pass to our front man.
I may be wrong but i think he will do the business this season if still here with better players around him.
