The only one who should feel 'flushed with pride' is Andy Murray.

    All the others are toilets....

Murray rejected a trial at Rangers, preferring to go to Barcelona to play tennis instead.

Murray's a marvellous player and brilliant to watch.

    Simple as that for me.

It was clear Murray had talent at a very young age and sacrificed a great deal to leave his family and his roots to go to a tennis academy in Barcelona at the age of 15 I believe.

Christ the weathers bad enough in England let alone Dunblane to play tennis

Mark Petchey and Brad Gilbert were his coaches before Lendl I believe.

    Bloody well done son anyway.

Bit out of order calling his mum a slag but I agree with the rest.

I've was in a boozer in Scotland when England played Northern Ireland and the hatred towards us was something else.

I want Scotland to lose at football, rugby and any other sport you care to mention.

I also wanted Murry to lose.

I have no connection at all with him, he comes from a different country to me so why should I want him to win?

    He can get to ****.

I don't know what we English are getting excited about. Wimbledon was won this year by a Scottish player and a Scot who in no way considers himself as one of us.
Murray is a foreign player and the English who think any of the glory belongs to us are grasping at straws.

The majority of his current coaching team is actually English (just found this out now), so there is something there...

I take it people missed the fact he's played for Britain in other tournaments other than the Olympics.

His mam coaches the female set up of the Davies Cup.

He drapped himself in the Union Flag & sang GSTQ.

His missus is English and he lives in Surrey.

He is allowed to say he's Scottish as well btw. If you're allowed to call yourself English why can't they say they're Scottish?

Some people just want to pick faults.

And i really hate Tennis. But fair play to him, he's had a cracking 2 years.

    Good luck with the Knighthood.

I've got no problem with people not supporting Murray, even if I think its a little petty because he his still representing GB. What gets me though is hypocrisy. These seem people are supporting the British Lions, England & Wales Cricket Team, Chris Hoy and others at Olympics.

Anyway its fantastic achievement and I feel he win a far few more Slams. Federer is on the way down, I think Nadal's game has worn him out. I'm not sure if there any super stars coming through though.

The bloke is a ****er! Don't forget how he distanced himself from us in the early days! He hates Englishmen. He only changed his attitude when his advisor/manager told him it would cost him money. I hope he walks in the house one day soon and finds his girlfriend riding an Englishman with a 12 inch cock!

He just agreed to give all his prize money (£1.6m of it) to a childrens hospital charity. Whether or not he hates the English, that there is a true sportsman. He deserves a lot of respect for that; I think he did the same thing with his Queens prize money too.

I think the Polish guy that he beat in the semis is already pretty awesome - 6ft 8in tall AND he can move round the court!
