The team I follow in Sweden (Djurgårdens IF, FYI) will be moving into the newly built Tele2 Arena. The only problem is that one of the arch rivals in Stockholm (Hammarby IF) will be doing the same move from their arena..... There's a fierce rivalry between the 3 larger teams in Stockholm (previously mentioned+AIK), so this might get "interesting".... We were supposed to have the premiere game at the new stadium with some former players/legend playing, but the game got called of due to a bomb planted at the arena, most likely by a Hammarby supporter. No intention to actually blow it (which would be stupid since they will be playing there as well), but just to call it off. http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1...holm-tele2-arena-amid-groundshare-row?cc=5739 Hammarby are supposed to have the first premiere game, but "my" team decided to have this friendly jippo game before, which got rival team supporters upset..... You didn't think this about Swedes/Sweden, did ya? It's a cool arena nevertheless! http://www.tele2arena.se/galleri/bilder/byggbilder/ Edit: The 3 teams all used to be in the top division, but Hammarby have slipped down to the second league. It's sort of like we would share the KC Stadium with Leeds I guess, although they can't talk about their wins back in the history books
And this story is EXACTLY why WE SHOULD NEVER let the KC Stadium get into private hands again. Current owners might have some moral fibre, but you never know who could take over in the future.
Thats why we should let Hull City own it...... That way we can never get kicked out, the council could quite easily kick us out once our lease runs out.
Can't figure this one out - the owners of the Ricoh are part City Council, part some charity. The owners have recently relented on their rent demands (excessively high at £1.3m pa I believe) and have said they can play there rent free this coming season but the Club have decided to up sticks and play 30 miles away in a ground that has a capacity of only 7000 - Coventry's average attendance last season was over 10,000.The supporters have already demonstrated that they don't want to move out of the City. Insane.
That's a poor argument. Future owners couldn't do much worse with it than the council are doing. My view on the situation: depends on the stadium owners. If they're dicking about holding the club to ransom, what do the fans expect them to do? I don't blame them for ****ing off even if it isn't ideal.
Safeguards can easily be put into any sale to stop that kind of thing. I dont expect the Allams to do such a thing with there history in this area either. The bottom line is that the HCC dont have the money to make repairs to the KC. Something needs to happen with the KC in the not too distant future. Sad but very true.

The situation with the KC needs address
