Why would Le Fondre come here when he's bound to have Premier League offers, or he could stay at a Reading side that look very much like promotion favourites?
He'd be a useful acquisition. But I'm really waiting to see wheere Hall fits into things. If BMD is going to play him out wide, all well and good, especially with Smith's obvious advantages in the penalty area. But if Hall isn't part of BMD's plans, time to let him go and bring in another genuine winger.
Hate to say it but given the fact we're crying out for wingers, I think the fact he hasn't played is a sign he just isn't good enough. Oh how I wish we'd gone for George Boyd instead of him...
Could be injured Kiwi. But your point is well made. Let's see what happens with the three games in Slovenia.
Heyho, let's hope it was a natural birth and that he comes back fit and well.... & doesn't attempt to breast feed junior during the game!!!
could have gotten away with it under Colin because we bypassed the midfield anyway! That could well be it for his Leeds career though? If he isn't going to have a preseason I can't see BMD holding off on bringing other wingers in incase Hall comes good. Unless he's already seen a lot of promise in training that we havent
The problem now is that Hall didn't feature under Warnock or McD and he's now missed the Farsley game and the tour of Slovinia so he's going to be far behind in terms of sharpness and will struggle to force his way into McD's plans. What was he saying about players living locally?? If Hall and his partner were in Leeds he could have played the Farsley game I'm sure.
Darren, they do live in Leeds. I remember him tweeting about the move. Tried to look back, but gave up when I found this tweet, which is fairly conclusive: Ryan Hall ‏@R_Hall4 6 Mar @Dicko_85 yeah it's good man living up in Leeds yeah my little one getting big now she's 6 got a little boy on the way due in July
I've read that Bolton are interested in signing him as well as us, saw it on the comments page of a YEP thread just now
I thought he'd already gone there, my bad. I imagine Bolton will probably offer him higher wages, plus he was there on loan last year which could sway him. I'd like him to join but I'd be surprised if he did
I know he was on loan at Bolton for the second half of last season, and Freedman wanted to make the move permanent, but he finished the season back at WBA. I think he's still available though as the deal was dependant on Matt Mills coming to Leeds, but he's now pledged his future to Bolton, so maybe there's a chance Leeds could get Dawson in - he wouldn't be cheap though.
I suppose it's just finding value for money. He's a good player certainly, but if his asking price is £3m and he wants £25,000 a week, we can find others. I had no idea he hadn't already joined Bolton though, now you've got my hopes up
I think if we somehow managed to offload some of our surplus to requirement midfielders we'd be able to cover his wages - after all we managed to get Morison's £12k a week off the books for a season, maybe another three players out would pay for Dawson's salary? Maybe get him in on loan? Then again I could be wrong and he's already signed for Bolton Haven't read anywhere that he has though.
Nah he hasn't signed for Bolton, I too thought he had but I've checked and he has just been heavily linked there. He won't cost 3m as well, more like 1m probably on reasonable champ wages. A really good player at this level with potential to go higher. Would be a fantastic signing but I'm remaining very sceptical about this link as I don't think we'd be able to pull it off
Just looked at his stats on wiki, he's a bit of a goalscoring CB . He's scored 19 goals on loan at Rochdale in two seasons and scored 4 goals in 16 games for Bolton and already 6 goals for the England U21s. He's got a better record than a lot of the strikers we've brought through the doors in recent years
