Loan Signings

As a general rule I am not in favour of loan signings especially from one Premier club to another. However, like most football fans I am more than happy to ignore my principles if my team benefit.

I know most people figure Sturridge ( my preferred first choice as new striker ) is unlikely to sign for us especially if Drogba or Anelka leave in the summer. For Sturridge I would happily ignore my principles and take him on loan for the season if we were not able to sign him on a permanent basis. Then hope he falls in love with "us" and stays thereafter as he sees Chelski buying 25 new strikers ( or at least one or two immediate fixes. )

Let me know your views and if not Sturridge what other "realistic" loan signing would people like?

 

All depend on who. Aslong as we dont go the makems way and get 5 loans

I only like loans with options to buy on them, in fact they make more sense than normal purchases.

 

Is it a bad thing if the loan signing is on a contract basis that after a season etc we reserve the right to first bid?

Ben Arfa came that way.

I dont want a multitude of them but a few choice pickings wouldn't go amiss. That van Aarnholt is a player worth this avenue of pursuit.

 

I wouldn't mind if we were used as a Bolton-type club though, if we'd had Sturridge in January then we would have scored so many more goals. But I am speaking with our current squad, if we get good strikers in then there's no point and we'll have a Guiseppe Rossi situation which is just a waste for club and player.

Never thought I'd rep you Tiote, but I had to for that one. He's ****e, they'll flog him to Wigan in a few years time and we'll never hear from him again.

There isnt that many out there who would tempt me to sign on loan. Other than Sturridge the only other one might be Johnson from Citeh. He would also solve the need for another winger as well

 

Yeah Johnson or even Milner might be tempted before they ruin their careers at Man City. Good wingers to have.

I think Sturridge's loan days are over, I think he's shown Chelsea what he can do.

Would be quality, can't see City selling him for less than 20mill tho tbh.

 

Personally Adam Johnson is a player I would go all guns blazing for.

 

Agree, cant imagine City would be too bothered about recouping all the money either, not as though they care about turning a profit.
