But well played Andy Murray, first Brit in what? 77 years.... knighthood in the bag and all that, and I've even forgiven him for when he said he'd support anyone but England at the Euros. Top player and true pro
Well done Murray. I didn't watch the match, and I find him a bit difficult to watch, but fair play to him. The 'Anyone but England' comments were 7 years ago. Build a bridge...
Brilliant- so happy for him. Never would have predicted a straight set victory either. Made the hangover bearable.
yeah, he did bloody amazing. when someone wants it so much and works so hard for it, you gotta take your hat off to them I don't know how he chased down half the shots in this heat. I had to stay out of the sun today after a few hours of standing in it at welling yesterday. he was running round like his life depended on it.
Pleased he won of course but incredibly hacked off about having to miss it because my band was booked to play at the Norwood Festival. We were booked to play for 5o minutes, so we had a 50 minute set prepared, then it ran late, they told us we only had 30 minutes, and after 20 minutes told us "only one more". Got into the car and Murray was at match point.
Fantastic match, very pleased for Murray. I was at the final last year, wish I could have been this year! Seeing how the thread is titled off topic I'm sure noone will mind me turning the talk away from tennis... did anyone see this?! http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jul/07/brazilian-referee-decapitated-stabs-player Crazy!
On the subject of Murray, have just seen that he is donating his £1.6 million winnings to charity, the cancer research and care Marsden Hospital where his friend was treated, absolute gentleman and role model
I know he did that it his winnings from queens but haven't heard him say anywhere he is doing this with his wimbledon winnings? Hats off to him if he is.
Just to win it is extraordinary - straight sets is phenomenal - 40 degrees on Centre Court at times today. Well done and an amazingly generous gesture to boot.
Yeah i saw it, big question for me isn't the decapitation, it's what is a ref doing with a knife AND how is this nation hosting a world cup?
You know me, AllHell. I'm not really keen on anyone, save for the followers of Wessex and CAFC (with the exception of a few!).
