... and from the same source 'Gosling to Crystal Palace with N'Koulou being looked at as a possible replacement to Saylor'.

Well, we'd be getting close to our goal - a Gallic first XI.

Replace a through-and-through Geordie with a potential rapist who has already turned us down once for money.

    Do I need to answer?

I will be disgusted if we swap Taylor to get Remy, hasn't Remy got a release clause.

With Samba off to Russia and Simmo surely talking up Taylor to 'Arry, could be possible.

Nicolas N'Koulou is no aerial monster by any means and aerial ability is something the team is deprived of.

Providing a more suitable alternative to Nicolas N'Koulou is brought in to help our goal ratio from set plays and Loic Remy's issue has been sorted then I wouldn't oppose a swap deal because although Stevie Taylor is a good defender and is reliable with his blocks etc, he just isn't a complete defender. We need a nucleus of English player's of the best quality possible, Currently we have Jack Alnwick, Remie Streete, Gael Bigirimana and Adam Campbell. We are unsure of how much potential the first two possess and we need at least two more English lads and the biggest priority should be Will Hughes because he will be a complete midfielder and a full international.

    My own wish list is:

    Wilfried Bony
    Loic Remy
    Tom Ince
    Will Hughes
    Joleon Lescott
    Frazer Forster

As long as we replace him properly, I don't care.

Technically none of us will really care. If he's swapped for Maggie Thatchers dead body and a packet of Harry's Nuts, there's fck all we can do about it and we'll still be Toon supporters. Easier on the blood pressure to just roll with the punches.

Logically, though, if Loic Remy is available, complete with 6 months Prem experience on top of his ability, for just £5m, it's the deal of the Summer. Compare that to around £8m for Bent and you get the picture.

We much accept the cold truth that winning games is all that matters in the long run, end of. Saylor is a cracking bloke, but if a player comes in who's a mercenary but proves more effective, I'm all for it.

Saylor's geordie soul is a likable trait, but as long as his replacement is aggressive enough and is willing to put his body on the line, on top of putting in good performances, to save goals like Saylor, it doesn't matter much to me.

The fact of the matter is that Saylor is injury prone, and lasts no longer than 15-20 games a season. If we can find someone who's going to be able to put in 30+ performances a season and play as good as or better than Saylor, then it shouldn't even be questioned.

it would be sad to see a Geordie leave but at the end of the day he spends the majority of each season injured and we make him out 2 be better than he is just because he is one. if Remy is cleared and takes a wage cut, in time we would forget him choosing QPR over us for the money. I would personally do this and then buy another striker which would most likely be Bent. That would give us Cisse, Remy, Bent, Ameobi and Campbell which definitely looks more positive than now. I think the story is most likely made up but it would allow MYM to partner Colo and I can't see why we wouldn't target Remy now he would be cheaper than Jan.

Hope this is a load of codswallop. Gosling can go to Palace whenever he wants but swapping a mercenary, Remy for Saylor is just plain stupid. Why would Steve want to step down a division anyway and play for saggy chops?
Someone is taking the pee here.

N'Kolou is much better than Saylor.

Remy has a low release clause - lower than Taylors value, so this is surely nonsense. There were rumours a few months ago that we were looking at N'Koulou though and that Marseille were keen to take Taylor as part of any deal. Probably someone at Sky got confused when they were indulging themselves in a bit of creative writing.

    Here it is: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-NKoulou-Steven-Taylor-way.html#ixzz2UNzrHmFL

On a side note, Gosling gone for any fee is worth doing.

Nothing will happen for at least a couple of weeks either way as the mullet is on holiday don't forget.
No rush at all. It's not as if per season is upon us or anything.

You're entitled to your opinion but Taylor would put his life on the line for the team, I can't see N'Kolou being so caring or enthusiastic.
