Legalize it so many health benefits, different strains are causing the mental health issues that's why it has become more and more prevalent.
Yes legalise it. I've dabbled in it now and again and it makes my fairy cakes delightful. I remember reading or seeing somewhere that the USA have spent billions on the war against drugs over the years and haven't come close to putting a dent in the industry. Imagine if they'd spent that money on healthcare or education or reducing poverty!
It doesn't do any more damage to your health than tobacco so why not? i've dabbled for years and never been involved in any violence or other drug related crimes, it's all down to the individual. Personally if i have a drink i want to sleep, some people get angry, others want to fight, some get happy and want to sing and dance, me i want to relax and chill. Marijuana has the same effect but that's just me. As for legalisation???? there's certainly no harm in trying it, just like the declassification a few years back, there was no increase in drug related crimes then, even though it was overturned after a while.
I can't see legalising it would cause too many problems, and would probably earn the government a good deal of money in taxes rather than the criminal fraternity raking in all the money tax free..I would probably try the cake form rather than smoke it if it was made legal..
Agree with this, it didn't do nout for me except make me really tired, which I normally am anyway after work!
There is absolutely no point in continuing with futile efforts to control substance abuse. We all know that no matter what the government do, they will never be successful in banishing drugs from our streets. I don't agree with drug taking at all, but what are the alternatives? a) Keep throwing hundreds of millions of pounds at the problem to try to prevent it, which has been unsuccessful for a hundred years or more. b) Legalise the bloody lot which will at least give some sort of health control over what exactly people are putting in their bodies. The government will also receive plenty of Wonga ( ) in the coffers from taxation I choose b).
Well one thing has been confirmed. There are a lot of stoners on this board. I used to smoke it every day and apart from the very occasional paranoid episode it did me very little harm. Im all for it being legalised as it has been proven that it is less harmful than alcohol. Imagine a night out consisted of a few spliffs rather than 10 pints there would be a lot less violence and the government would save a **** load of money on policing the city centre streets all through the night.
Legalise pot whilst snipping 20% from everybody's bank account. Think yourself lucky, the Cypriots didn't have the right to 'light up'.... Think deeper.
I have been delivering "medical marijuana" in southern California for over a year now. The one thing I can say for sure is that about 40% are recreational users but 60% are definitely helped by the "meds" Some have some really painful diseases like cancer, MS, RA even HIV and the only medicine that helps them is marijuana
I saw a news headline today that said, 'Long-time marijuana use linked with decreased motivation'. I couldn't be arsed to read anymore of i
I once grew some blueberry marajuana in my greenhouse. The plants looked beautiful & it was the best smoke ever.
Absolutely yes. Never did anyone, who wasn't already mental, any harm. My only problem with this article is Legalize It is a Peter Tosh (The Wailers) song. Jus' sayin'.
I think yopu are refering to Population in 17 million and 60 million but the article is factually correct when it refers to the numbers of sufferers of schizophrenia per 100,000. The legalization of this and other so called soft drugs along with other things such as Prostitution has long been debated especially within the NHS as there are implications for that service with both drugs and STD's associated with prostitution surprisingly most NHS staff think both should be legalized for much the same reason as was stated in this article. (1) The drug cannabis has some legal uses in the treatment of Asthma and some other breathing related illnesses. (2) If it was legalised and brought under control the strength and purity of the drugs could be dealt with it is more often the impurities in illegal soft drugs that causes the fatalities. (3) Prostitution could be cleaned up and there would be less STD's and fewer people brought into this country to be prostitutes by criminal gangs ie only those who wished to work in this particular trade would do so as there would be no particular niche for the criminal gangs to exploit other that the more extreme types of sexual dominance and inflicting of pain etc. (4) The NHS could probably be funded by receipts from the activities of both of the above which would be a boost for the economy. (5) By making some of these things legal the Police would be able to concentrate in dealing with the more serious crimes such as dealing in Hard drugs, and Sex trafficing. I took part in many of these debates in my 30 years in the NHS and still didn't come to a definative decision as it is a highly emotive subject, but one day I suppose someone will bite the bullet and make a decision that will cause uproar amongst the far right and we will see what happens in real life. I tried various drugs in my youth Pot and Acid being the main ones I didn't become addicted to either one but then I'm one of those lucky people who was able to walk away from Booze and tobacco as well.
It's completely pointless keeping it illegal. All you do by banning it is make a black market. 50+ percent of young people these days are smoking it or have smoked it. It's a none-addictive drug that you cannot overdose on and it has plenty of positive medicinal effects also. If not for recreational use, then it should be legal for medical use.
