Mbia and Diakite could be next out at QPR

Stephane Mbia and Samba Diakite could be the next big-name departures from Queens Park Rangers, but both players could remain in England.

Sky Sports understands there is interest from the continent in the duo, who both joined Rangers last summer, but it seems that the pair could be heading back to the Premier League.

Interest in former Marseille star Mbia is strong, and his ability to play in defence or midfield looks to be a major draw, with Arsenal, Aston Villa and Swansea City all believed to be considering moves for the Cameroon international.

Sources close to the player have confirmed that the 27-year-old is settled in England and would relish the chance to stay in the Premier League, although the prospect of playing in the Championship with QPR is not thought to appeal.

With Mbia one of the higher earners, it is unlikely that QPR will stand in his way if interest should become concrete, and the same is believed to be the case for Diakite.

Fulham and Stoke, where Mark Hughes, who signed Diakite for QPR, is now manager, are both understood to be keeping close tabs on his situation and could be set to make offers for the 24-year-old.

Not surprised re Mbia, only a year left on his contract as well, but Arsenal? Not refined enough for them surely.

I think Diakite is potentially a great player, but he has to play more than a handful of games a year, tackle whatever personal issues he has, and be handled by a sympathetic coach. Suspect he will be happier in France. Shame, I really like him.

Whatever happened to Taiwo? Still on loan to Dynamo Kiev......

Won't shed many tears for the loss of either, and it will lessen ACON problems. Diakite the bigger disappointment, but his second season with us didn't match the first and his headstrong approach often risked a card

I thought diakite would be our player of the season but what a disappointment he was amonst others, Mbia well fits & starts with him & won't be missed.

Diakite was almost a bigger dissapointment as Granero. Had such high hopes for him but like most, he was a shower of ****e!

Two of the least intelligent footballers Ive seen play for us. Diakite is a walking red card while Mbia is the worst diver Ive ever seen in a comedy way.

At least we should get some money for them, on the other hand it will put the average age of the squad up even further.

It will be very positive to shift these two liabilities. As mentioned, both are walking yellow/red cards, thick as two short planks and neither can pass a ball properly. Well cleared up space on the wage bill. Here's hoping this comes to fruition.

The one time I saw him play CB he made Calrton Cole look world class.
I've seen Carlton play 30 times - he is sh*te

So looks like a good fit for Arsenal!

Real shame as both these players were great when i have seen them in France. I agree I thought Diakite would step as he has a Patrick V written all over him .. I know he has had severe emotional and personal problems in his private life. I hope we keep both these players if we can ... to call them liabilities is of course complete nonsense and reflects exactly again how QPR fans have got their heads thinking weird **** ... we were and are lucky to have them and Stephen I am hoping could sort this things out and get players playing to their potential if they do then QPR will blow up a lot of theories on here. Remember your roots lads

Just get rid of them. Both were massive dissapointments last season and were ,as many said before, walking red cards..... Hope we get some consolation money when they leave us.

Please give me a reason as to why they are not liabilities? Diakite was non existent last season, has his personal issues so why on earth would we want to keep him? Mbia cost us the Arsenal away match and the Wigan game single handily. We're not 'lucky' to have anyone, we want to move the club forward and these two players aren't disciplined nor intelligent enough to play in the Premier League.

They were great with the ball making surging runs but they both made some of the stupidest tackles Ive ever seen, its almost like they wanted to lose on purpose the way they lunged in, even on a yellow.

Both have true ability IMO ... Yes their adjustment to the English game has been checked but they are here now and may I ask you to replace them with who ... championship players? ... is that moving forward? If they go for money then fair enough but if we end up with Harolds and Stephen vision of good old English boys we will hardly move forward ... because even if we are successful with promotion we will need to rebuild again and buy in players exactly like Mbia and Diakite who are stronger athletes and can play a bit ... I take your point that with us these boys have been naive but they didn't cost us any results ... we should have scored more in those games and looking like we have at beating up individuals ... its no wonder QPR are the laughing stock currently

I don't think DT is too far wrong. I think there is a decent footballer in both of them BUT if either of them doesn't want to play for us then so be it & in Mbia's case he has already shown total disrespect for our club & to us as supporters with his twitter bullshit.

Two very disappointing players for us last season. Don't think I remember anything memorable they did and they didn't manage a goal between them all season. Not the sort of players we need in the championship.
