OT slightly but I really don't think DQPR will get promoted. The media seem to hail Harry as some kind of football management genius who all he ahs to do is turn up and his teams wins based on nothing whatsoever. All the media, and I mean all of it, seemed to think as soon as he took over at DQPR they'd be automatically safe yet they went down with barely a whimper despite spending the kind of money normally reserved for a top 6 side. I wouldn't be surprised if they ahd a higher wage bill and spent more on transfers than Everton. We had exactly this same situation when he took Saints down, remember how that went?
Hooper has already said he wasn't interested in Reading's reported approach, not wanting to drop into the Championship. The only reason he would then go to DQPR is the money. We shall see, or TWT.
How long before City move on from both deals and spend the money elsewhere? http://www.clubcall.com/hull-city/bruce-waits-on-striker-bid-1604645.html?
This is what I've feared all along. There's a good chance we're going to end up with neither if Burnley say no. I wonder who else we have on this striker list; I'm guessing their all foreign.
Hooper news... http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11787/8809518/SPL-Gary-Hooper-hints-he-will-stay-at-Celtic-next-season
There's a few rumours that Burnley are trying to agree a deal for Sam Baldock, before they'll let Austin come to us.
We all know it is you that needs the carer Chazz. If we had done either of those deals then i would be worried. Alot of money for totally unproven players. Could well do. *** nb. oopps. I think that SB is doing a fine job on the deals,. Nobody has a clue where we are with them and its so funny. Plenty of time yet. As Quinny says in the hdm we dont need that much now. Sounds from him suggest Yes he will. Patience.
I'm usually very patient Tickles, not much phases me. I do have the perspective that many on here and probably yourself have, i.e. lived through seeing our team at the very bottom and struggling at their lowest ebb. So all in all, these are great days to be a supporter. I was just getting anxious...irrational for sure...but just a little anxious all the same! Excited anxious... UTT!
Correction Tricolour - You do! (Or rather, you come out with all these definite facts. You're so, so positive about what you reckon.) ...but don't stop - as well as doing our heads in, you seriously amuse us.
Obvious that this is Hooper's subtle way of saying to the Celtic board; 'back down on your asking price for me, or I'll stay and you'll get nothing for me next summer'.
If Hooper really wants out, then why hasn't he just slapped in a transfer request ? I'm sure the answers obvious but...
I think transfer requests really are a last resort, when situations get bitter or there's unanimous feeling that a player really should be moving on to either further his career or get game time. I think it looks bad on a player when they just hand in a transfer request when a club has shown so much faith in them, and I think that's the feeling amongst the prossionals as they don't actually seem to occur very often, despite the way people talk about them on here as if they're getting handed in left right and centre.
He'd be silly to stick in a transfer request. What if Celtic don't lower their price and QPR are the only club to stump up the fee Celtic want? ...you can stick in a transfer request all you want based on speculation, but if the speculation doesn't amount to a bid, you've backed yourself into a corner.
I don't see us signing either of them the way it has shaped up. If we were a viable option for either of them (club status, wages, bid amount) we would have had some positive sign coming from their end or their clubs' end. Now others are sniffing and I think we should move on. Not sure they were great targets from the start. I think we should look abroad personally, better value for money.
