i hope not, we need CFs, CBs, a goalie and attacking midfielders. CM is the only position Id be happy not to buy anyone new.
Sorry Rangecol but Granero was highly regarded here but obviously not suited to the EPL or QPR and possibly not the championship. Agree he needs to move on. As to Diakite he seems to have mental problems. We pay a fortune for him and then he goes straight back home. somewhere our checking system was lacking. If we sign Parker the terms need to be in our favour not the player's and his agent and that must go for all future signings..
I forgot about Diakite, the invisible man of West London! Harold has said he'll probably resign if we don't get promoted this year (presumably before he is sacked) so I'm expecting a load of quick fixes coming in and another hugely expensive rebuild next summer if it works. I'd honestly rather take a couple of years and build something durable with spirit and youth, but Harold is right, for him anything less than promotion has to be seen as a failure, so actually can't blame him, it's the old man's last hurrah. He doesn't give a toss for the club though, its all about him.
I quite like Parker though, he's like a 1950's schoolboy done as a thunderbirds puppet. Great combo.[/QUOTE] I tend to disagree there Stan, looks like he should be shooting down BF109's over the White Cliffs of Dover in my eyes. A cravat just poking out from his shirt should complete the ensemble.
I've always like Parker as a player and if we get rid of a couple would be a good buy for us, but key is we need to shift the players, realistically in the midfield we only need wide players and to lose some Cm's, Oh yeah and those CM's to perform at least to 80% of their potential.
The jury is still out for me. Not sure what to make of this link. He definitely ticks the "right sort" box, but is his legs still the same as two years ago? Not convinced.
I would pick them also FFS we are very strong in midfield as I said yesterday we have nearly two teams that would do well at this moment in time We win a few games you all will see a very strong team grow I am certain that most other championship teams look at QPR and think we are strong the danger is they up there game Johnson Zamora Mackie Taarabt Remy SWP if they stay could score a lot of goals It's time to look at our squad and know we have a very good chance and respect to Harold for saying he will fail if we don't go up as this squad is easily good enough in the premiership if we get a team playing together Good times ahead maybe but Harold and Stephen have to prove it now
Well Granero can play Col and both at the top of their games sorry mate Granero is very talented You are basing your view on Graneros performance with us Granero would fit in at Liverpool Chelsea or Swansea like a glove and look world class England haven't got any class top 10 midfielders after Lampard Gerrard go Jack Isn't good enough by miles but has promise ... England always big up their players there lies the problem Parker is very good and will be great for us but Granero can be quality and at the moment he is still QPR as is Barton Parker if he comes could be good but don't expect anything creative from him ... Granero is 10 times more creative however needs to step up to the speed of our frantic second rate game in the UK ... Put Parker in Spain or Italy he would be very ordinary
Agreed .................. Parker would be an excellent acquisition for the club and by making him Captain would be a worthy cause. This is the type of stuff we suffering R'rsssssss fans have be longing for.
But to state the bleeding obvious, we aren't playing in Italy or Spain. We are playing in the Championship. I agree with Col that Faurlin and Granero would be too light weight and would get over run, Faurlin and Parker could be as effective as Faurlin and Derry were a few season back and allow our attackers to steam forwards knowing that we have solid coverage behind them.
Tottenham Willing To Accept £2m As Midfielder Nears Exit – Report -By VANESSA KELLER: | July 4, 2013 4:57 PM GMT Scott Parker has emerged as a target for QPR who are ready to meet Tottenham's £2m valuation for the midfielder this summer. Parker excelled for Spurs when he first joined the side from West Ham but his last season was a disappointing one, and as the campaign continued Andre Villas-Boas increasingly limited his game time as a result. The arrival of Brazilian midfielder Paulinho will put Parker's future in further doubt, and the Guardian are claiming that the north London club are willing to part with him for around £2m in order to cut their wage bill as much as possible. Villas-Boas is entering his second year in charge of the same club for the first time in his career, and after a somewhat successful season with Tottenham - they finished with their highest points tally in the history of the club, but missed out on a Champions League spot - all eyes will be on the Portuguese tactician's decisions as he looks to further build the squad. Last season he began a clearout post-Harry Redknapp, and now seems set to do the same again this summer, with Parker possibly moving to QPR to work again with his former boss. The Daily Mail says the England international is fielding serious interest from the relegated club, and though his preference is to stay in the Premier League, he is also aware that after a disappointing season top flight clubs will be less inclined to give the 32 year old a chance. Redknapp is also believed to be keen on Peter Crouch, with the manager looking to recoup a host of his former players as he looks to restore harmony in the QPR dressing room. http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/486643/20130704/tottenham-transfer-news-scott-parker-qpr-exit.htm? For both players, it will be difficult to meet their high wages at Tottenham and Stoke, but Redknapp is hopeful that the players will take a pay cut in order to secure regular first team football.
Would be more than happy with Parker, we moaned all season long about our players not putting in the effort and we'd never have that issue with Parker nor Barton for that matter. Personally Granero needs shifting as does Mbia and probably Diakite wherever the hell he is. If we managed to bag Parker, Crouch and Townsend in addition to Simpson I'd be happy.
Exactly. I can't quite believe that some people are against having Parker in the middle of our midfield....in the Championship!! Bloody hell!!
I think he will be great I just don't agree that Parker is miles better than Granero he would lead QPR and become our captain for sure no doubt and I think it will happen I am of course in favour of expression football the modern European game In fact the world game those who think English football is unique and still the best need to wake up Parker in a top European side would be well off the quality required Granero could play well in any top European side and shades it for me over Parker Granero doesn't fit well in English football at the moment but again as I mentioned its changing and would do well for Liverpool or the Swans now Villa even maybe Arsenal already doing it The game is changing for the good and I expect the teams mentioned to get better in a few seasons the transformation will be complete and then if we take a stock check we will see the changes ... It may not be as exciting as it was that's why at times we think its all getting boring in the premier league ... There's the change Granero game is suited for that change ... Parker will have retired by then ... Also there are 50 Graneros coming through how many English players ? Harold knows this Stephen certainly does .. The UK fans most don't see it
