Please bare with me on this. And give this thread a fair chance before deciding whether or not to delete it, mods.

Have you ever spent significant amounts of time trying to understand why you feel the way you do, or explain your own thought process? I have, and recently I've discovered the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. It has really helped me understand why I think and feel the way I do.

I spend a lot of time thinking to myself, analyzing a lot of things, but despite this, I've never had a clue as to how I operate as a human, and these discoveries, on top of my recent interest in psychology, have really given me clarity, and perhaps slight peace of mind.

http://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test - Fill in the questionaire. Make it completely unbiased and try to be completely honest with yourself, otherwise you'll not find the correct personality type for yourself. You do not have to share your results, so you don't have to worry about picking certain answers to effect the outcome of your test to impress or look a certain way to other people. But if you wish to share your results, I'm interested to see them.

Here's the 16 personality types in a tree. When you find out which one you are, there's a description for each one. Read yours, and get closer to understanding yourself- http://www.personalitypage.com/html/portraits.html

I have given a more detailed description of myself below, but just in case you don't give a **** about me and just want to do your own test, I've put my info in a NSFW box as it's very long and detailed, and I don't want to commit a knee jerk reaction to the huge wall of text and click "back" straight away -

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

    [NSFW]My personality type - INTP - http://www.personalitypage.com/INTP.html

I'll keep it as short as I can - I am classed as an "INTP", and when I read the description of what an INTP is, It's almost perfectly describes me.

For the past 3-4 years, I've been discovering myself as a human being. I've known from an early age that I don't feel things like most human beings. I've never really understood people's emotions and how they feel. I find it hard to sympathise with people. I can listen to someones problems and give them good advice based on logic, but I cannot look at someone who is crying and feel much for them, even if it's someone that's particularly close to me.

My views on things are usually seen as cold hearted and inhuman, not necessarily because I disagree with most people on a certain subject, but because, unlike most human beings, my emotion plays very little part in my decision making and deciding whether or not something is right or wrong. I can't just emotionally react to things like rape and say "ugh rape is so horrible and rapists are evil".

To me the concept of "Good and Evil" is just something that's been built upon the feelings of the majority. It's just completely opinionated. There is no correct or incorrect behind it because what's right or wrong isn't set in stone. Murder is classed as wrong because it's "evil and horrible". Rape is wrong because it's "abhorrent". I cannot form such simplistic views on things as I am not driven by emotion, and I cannot justify classing something as wrong simply because of a reaction in my heart.

Good and Evil, Right and Wrong - These things... really mean nothing to me because I do not care for "good", and I don't feel hatred for "evil". I'm not driven by feeling, and I have to analyze everything. To me, all that matters is the law and what rules need to be put in place to make a society can function. Right and wrong is based on opinion, but the law can't be argued with, so I place more value on what keeps everything stable, rather than what everyone feels.

Most people say - Murder is horrible.

I say - Murder should be dealt with harshly because we are never going to survive with one another if we are allowed to murder each other. Everyone needs to have a certain amount of rights and protection, as everyone one of us relies on thousands of services, ran by hundreds of thousands on people, simply to be able to function in our day to day lives. We could not function as a society if we consistently lost man power due to people being able to get away with things like murder.

My stance on things doesn't contain a hint of emotion, and it is cold hearted. I'm not considering the feelings of other people, but I am producing an answer that is based on logic, and that's how I look at almost everything in life.

This does not mean I do not care for anyone, or that I would want to inflict pain on anyone without reason, but I find it hard to feel things for other people. My emotions are in the 7th layer of hell, and It's rare that they are touched to the point where my actions are driven by them.

I haven't always been as extreme as I am now in the way I operate, but as I've grown older, it is how I have become. It isn't influenced very much due to my past experiences, I've always felt this way, but I've only recently been able to put my feelings into perspective.

One of the weirdest things about me is that embrace depression, as it's during my depressed periods where, even though they're periods where I give less of a **** about everyone else and become quite dark, a feeling of sadness becomes prevalent inside me, and whenever I feel something as strong as this, I want to hold onto it.

When I'm not depressed, I feel little to no emotion. When I am depressed, at least I feel something.[/NSFW]

Joe Kinnear just I'd that test and it said he was the Messiah, the best at anything and everything he turned his hand to, modest, polite and generally just brilliant.

It said I was a sad tosser who was worried that nobody seemed to find me awesome, so I'd do pointless online questionnaires just to see if that thinks I'm awesome and that everyone else is wrong.

But seriously... Why waste your time with these things? I'd expect most people to have a pretty good grasp of their personalities (except Boa... though in fairness,22 personalities is a lot to keep track of) without the need to confirm what they know via some heinous set of limited questions with only 16 possible automated conclusions. These sites aren't fact generators ready to let you into some startlingly deep insight about yourself.

You could have asked anyone of us to give you a psyche evaluation. It's as objective, because nobody here knows how ugly or fat you are, and at least thrice as valuable because we know you as a poster. You're clearly a hipster and ladies man, who loves rock climbing, the work of Linward Barclay, bringing multiple women to orgasm at the same time, and introspective paintings.

Your participation is optional. It wasn't meant to be taken too seriously.

I haven't gotten peace of mind simply by doing this test, it is much more complicated than that, but I wasn't just going to make a thread about my personal experience, was I? If I put into a thread what I've discovered and the research I have done, it would have been pages and pages long.

It would have just been seen as a ****ing attention seeking thread. (Not that It probably doesn't seem like that way already)

The test was something I wanted to get everyone involved in, and if they so wished they could do their own research due to their new found interest in the subject.

It's not as if I did a test and was like "I have found myself!". LOL

Mine came out the same this time as it did the last time I did one of these. With a picture of Chandler Bing beside the writing. Naturally I didn't read it and now assume I actually am Chandler, though will be taking the name Chanandler Bong.
