We have a surplus of players (midfield especially) and McDermott said he's trying to bring two more in although these deals may not be done in time for Saturday. If you were McD who would you be looking to ship out to keep the wage bill under control? For me:

    - White
    - Norris or Tonge
    - Pugh
    - Diouf
    - Brown
    - Varney

Hall as well if McD doesn't rate him....

I think Murphy, Austin, Green, Tonge/Norris and Thompson are more than enough for the central midfield slots so Dawson should go out, bulk up and get some valuable experience.

Tonge should stay for me, much better on the ball than Norris and capable of adding 5 goals a season, decent player.

Definitely should keep Diouf, he knows how to see games out and hold onto the ball. He's lost his pace but he's great on the ball, sees things others don't and knows how to draw a foul. Worth holding onto for the last year of his contract.

I'd love to see Hall come good because we desperately need a good winger, but Huddersfield away aside, every time I've seen him he's been dire.

I'd keep Thompson, Murphy, Green, Dawson, possibly Brown and Diouf.

Get rid of the rest <ok>

Yeah I think everyone wants Hall to succeed but Warnock signed him and never played him really. Maybe he can show something during pre season.

As for Diouf - he can't play more than once a week (week in week out) and I'm sure other experienced players like Hunt can help see the game out. For the wages he's on I would rather spend them on someone who can play when needed and give us a different dimension especially if we are chasing a goal.

Get what you mean about Diouf, but I think he's worth keeping. He's only got a year left on his contract, on relatively low wages and he still has genuine class. He makes things happen, worth his place in the squad at least.

We do need a couple of players that can add a different dimension though, preferably a pacy winger and a forward thinking midfielder. Add in a natural goalscorer and a quality centre half, and we're not looking too bad.

In an ideal world it would be good to have him on the bench (not sure he would be happy with that) - I guess it depends on who we have lined up and what budget we have for wages etc.

Really depends on what formation Brian wants to play. Two up top and Diouf may struggle to play regularly. One up top with attacking midfielders floating around the forward is a formation I think Diouf would thrive in.

I'd agree with your list but I'd keep Tonge as mentioned above he is a good player and grabs a goal every now and then...

Ryan Hall looks like a waste of time so he needs to go back to League Two!

And finally once Brown goes I will be just as happy as when we got rid of Bates!

Let face it, the only hope of Brown leaving is on Emergency Loan locally. No one will offer him a 2 year deal so he will see out his deal and stay living locally (Sheff United/Bradford/Barnsley).

Zac Thompson needs to show what he has sooner rather than later, I wish him well but would prefer to see Dawson getting game time.

Under BM Aiden White will get the chance to play passing football. he needs to take it and should have a good season if he can get games.

Norris has not shown enough, so I think his time is limited.

Varney's ability in the air should see him playing a big role pushing through the middle.

EHD should be used to see games out if we are in the lead.

I don't see Tonge playing a big part, but he puts in a shift and he does score.

Thompson's done his time out on loan, I think he needs to start playing for the first time while Dawson goes out on loan. Hopefully Poleon will start more games this season too, and we can start blooding in some of the other youngsters during cup games.

White really must be on his last chance now, he needs to show something.

I thought he was really good at times last season, always gave 100%, still in excellent shape and condition for his age - think he's worth keeping.

I can't really find it in me to hate any Leeds player tbh

Agree, think he was fine last year. Probably is getting a little bit too old now, but he's still a decent player. At least he's not scared of making a tackle, even if he does get there late <laugh>

While Diouf was well behaved under Warnock I can see him being a liability under McDermott. Not that McDermott is a bad man manager, but some people will only respond to a certain type of management. His actions against Brighton, while hilarious, were the first incident he'd had all season, and I don't think it's a coincidence that it happened only 3 matches after Warnock was replaced.

I don't really think of it as an incident though. It was stupid, yes, but completely harmless. It's not as though he spat on someone or hit them, and his play on the field throughout the season merits letting him see out his contract. McDermott knows he's talented, he'll get the best out of him <ok>

    Yes really - he's a thug not a footballer. He's a liability.

He's not going to start and would rather see others given a go ahead of him.

Sadly Warnock made sure Brown got his contract extension and we're stuck with him.....
