    Apparently three clubs have bid for Kone who has a five mil release clause. Would anyone take him? For 5 mil I would as a 2/3 choice striker. Has played in the league, scored goals (not enough to keep Wigan up mind) and would be a good option IMO. More likely to go to Everton but hope we are one of the clubs in for him because at £5m and not having heard us even mentioned in the same breathe as him it's very possible.

    Might be accurate....but the problem is he wants to - with direct quotes - follow Martinez. Just file it next to "Luuk De Jong", as in a bid for the sake of looking busy, with zero chance of actually securing the player.

    On a side note, does anyone believe there's anything in us just looking busy??? I mean, if we actually WANTED Bent - that's the completely unwanted Bent with no other interested clubs - we would have already signed him, yes? Yet the players we're allegedly linked with - Aubameyang - we have NO chance of getting due to interest from bigger/better clubs. Is it all just a game?

    Would have the lad, like him as a player, however as someone has already suggested he will go to Everton to play under Martinez again.

    To be fair he has been set for Everton for a while by looks of reports doing the rounds. Understandable with Martinez.

    I'd have like to see us sign Alcaraz on a free. Paraguay always produce top class defenders and he is a canny hand, with experience and leadership qualities. And I like his name, as if you chuck a t in there it makes him sound like he'll make your defence really secure.

    I think we all would, but Rhodes is likely to cost at least twice as much so wont be on our cheapness radar.

    Yup, said that above. He's already said he wants to go to Everton. Unless there's something more in the Perch transfer? First dibs, perhaps, but we're waiting for Pardew to return to "ok" it?
