I would argue with anyone on here that we have an outstanding squad ... Harold can get this talent working I hope Stephen can because there is some massive talent here as I have said all along!! . Maybe its our story to get bashed up and hurt and maybe we have to do it the rangers way but these players are some the best we have had in our history.

When we kick off then we should back them 100% and I would call to support the club and all the players next season and understand that putting your negative energy into players like Bosingwa will not get him playing as well as he can ...

We have two teams here that should win the championship by Feb and If the players have to bond the hard way then it will be the making of the club ... No excuses Harold and i respect the comments today on Talk Sport ... at last maybe he thinks this is now his club.

Barton ... what would I do ... easy sack him in public and take it to court all the way .. the media circus will again build the profile of QPR worldwide ... it would kill Twitter and footballers esp Barton once and for all. we all have an opinion but Barton needs to be sacked once and for all. If you open your mouth then you have to pay for it

DT, good post but I've learnt my lesson and will not even think such thoughts - "win the league by Christmas" - unless there is objective evidence of such a thing ie points in the table.

I do agree with you the quality of the individual players but, critically, what will be the quality of the team?

I hope you are right. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy the ride!

Is he back or not? Having read all the posts I'm confused, I hope we never see him in our beloved hoops again

Joey may come back for some training but I cannot see him wanting to come back full time. It's all about brinkmanship now between TF and him. I'd say JB will get P*ssed off pretty quickly at the uncertainty, and will take considerably less than he's demanding now. Hold firm Tony...

@Joey7Barton: Nice little double session. Actually enjoyed catching up with some of the old lads.

Easing himself back in, ready to announce he's staying?!

Well if Hull can make it up there's hope for everyone IMO. August 17th will be very interesting at Chelsea.

Joey Barton's agent takes the blame for midfielder's late arrival at training with Queens Park Rangers.

Willie McKay, the agent of Joey Barton, has accepted the blame after his player returned to pre-season training two days after Queens Park Rangers expected him back.

Harry Redknapp, the QPR manager, claimed that Barton had been sent “the same information as every other player” to report on Monday but he did not return until Wednesday.

Barton wrote on Twitter that “I am brilliant at a lot of things but telepathy isn’t one” and McKay later told Telegraph Sport that it had been a misunderstanding.

“It’s my fault – I told Joey that it was Wednesday,” he said. “There is no way he would want to report late for pre-season.”

Barton has enjoyed a successful past year on loan at Marseille and is hoping that a permanent deal can be agreed.

His last match for QPR was when he was sent off at Manchester City on the final day of the 2011-12 season but he still has two years remaining on his contract.

Barton is on a contract worth around £70,000 a week at QPR and Redknapp believes that the 30-year-old wants to be compensated if he does join Marseille.

“He wants to go to Marseille and he did very well there last year, but he’s got two years left of his deal here,” said Redknapp.

“I think he’s looking for the club to give him a payday here and then he’ll go. I don’t know how it’s all going to end.

“He was sent the same information as every other player – that was to report for training on Monday.”

Barton said that he had enjoyed his double training session at QPR on Wednesday and wrote that he was “surprised” by his own level of fitness. “Still a machine,” he said on Twitter.

With Barton’s future still uncertain, Redknapp has made an ambitious move to add Scott Parker, who he signed for Tottenham, to his central midfield.

Although it is thought that Tottenham would accept an offer of around £2  million, there would be doubts over whether Parker would want to drop down into the Championship, especially as he is still in contention for the England squad ahead of next summer’s World Cup.

Redknapp also admitted that he would evaluate his own future if he does not take QPR straight back to the Premier League.

“If we don’t make it I really won’t be happy with what I’ve done and will have to look at what I do in the future,” he said.

“For my own satisfaction, I have really got to get them up this year, that’s where I’m at. I think we have a big chance.”

What I gather is that Barton and his agent are requesting a £3million pay off to mutually terminate his contract. He'll state that he's saving us £4million over the next 2 years and proclaim himself to be a selfless footballer amongst an industry of greed.

Well, here's how I'd respond if I was Tony Fernandes. I'd tell Joey that he can forget any sum of money to cancel his contract. If he wants to walk away without us paying him a penny, so be it.

In the meantime I'd make him train 9-5 every single day, welcome him to the real world of work, and see who buckles first. The man's 31 years old, doesn't have too long in his career left. How does he want to spend the next 2 seasons? He's backed himself into a corner with his tweets etc.

    Job done
