Anyone come across this site before - has some interesting stats; http://transferleague.co.uk. What surprised me was that over the past 5 seasons - the swans are not far off breaking even from funds coming in for players sold vs players purchased. Doing some brief sums in my head - I was thinking we must have several million from recent player sales to invest - but going by the history listed on this site - not the case (note that there does seem to be a bug on the site and the club transfer history doesnt seem to currently be accessable - only overall values - was there a few days ago though). Thinking of recent major sales; - Sinclair ~7m - Allen ~ 15m - Graham ~5m Plus the income from Rodgers and backroom staff (note - not included in the site above) - Rodgers & Backroom staff ~6-7m That comes to a whopping 33-34m. Thinking about 'recent' outlays; - Chico ~2m - Michu ~2m - Barltley ~1m - Graham ~3m - Ki ~5.5m - Pablo ~5.5m - Lita ~2m - Routledge ~2m - Vorm ~2m This comes to 25m - and covers the main recent signings (might have missed somebody)......so should suggest 8-9m in the bank - but not according to the site above!
Sold Scotland and Martinez for about 5 million Bought Sinclair for 1.5 6 million for Shelvey seems an awful lot!
In the grand scheme of things would you have said that Joe Allen was worth £15 million. I think it is almost impossible to value players these days. As much as I loved Allen and as much as I am not a fan of Shelvey I wouldnt say Joe was worth almost 3 times as much him either. Its a mad mad mad world!!!
And yet there was a period last season where Liverpool fans were calling for Brenda to play shelvey instead of Joe.
