I'm really not. I've expressed slight concern at what's happened so far this summer and some aspects of our transfer policy. I've made the same point about transfer policy in the past and may do so again in the future. I've also said there is a long time left in the transfer window and things may change.

People here sometimes seem to assume that anyone who expresses an opinion that's not wholly optimistic must be sitting in a darkened room, tearing their hair out and desperately refreshing news sites in the hope the club sign someone. In reality (and in the spirit of Gordon Strachan) I have a salad in the fridge that expires today and I'm more worried by that than Southampton's transfer situation.

 

I don't think people are panicking but if they were in charge there would definitely be a lot of panic buying.

In NC and MP we trust, they will get it right, we will improve and we will be happy come the end of the season, now let's just enjoy the ride!

Looks like Jonjo Shelvey is off to Swansea, £6m.

If I were to have Saints compared to another side in the PL, I'd be very happy were it to be Swansea. Play the right way, intelligent, knowledgeable, young and progressive manager. Ambitious.




......but I wouldn't really want Shelvey.

Tbf to the player, he is only 21. Should be a good prospect.

Shelvey's a good prospect. £6m is a bargain if anything, compared with other young English players like Henderson for example!

He was damn good at Charlton. If there's any club that can get the best out of him, and nullify any alleged arrogance, it's Swansea.

 

Zarate isn't the same player as he use to be.
