Had a few days in Prague a few weeks ago. I can fully understand why they drink so much. The beer, every single pint was spot on. I imbibed quite a few as well to form an educated opinion.
According to govt guidelines if you drink more than 21 units a week 10 and a half pints a week u r an alco. That's everyone I know.
I will always remember rocking up at Prague station at about 7am and seeing all the blokes off to work on the building sites drinking bottles of beer as they waited for their metro trains. Yet away from the main tourist drag of Wensceslas Square I never saw any bother all the time I was there. This was a few years back mind and I don't doubt things have changed a bit, not least the prices - we were only paying about 24p per pint for Budvar and Pilsner Urquell and 15p for litre bottles
